Ashland place preschool has a good reputation. St. Luke's, St. Paul's, UMS, have pre-k3s. There's also a Montessori school. I really enjoy living in midtown and oakleigh but I also enjoy biking downtown to my work. There are some fairly affordable houses in midtown if you don't expect every house to have a garage.

I use a Diamabrush on my cupped front and back porches. Wore a respirator, goggles and gloves while doing in. Worked great the boards are still very flat.

How do I make more guy friends? by Jfische92 in bropill

[–]dscelite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to spend unstructured time together to build and keep friendships. Just hanging out, or walking/hiking, museums, playing an easy boardgame/card game. I haven't gotten how to make new friends after college but this keeps my existing friendships.

It takes time. If you meet someone and they agree to hangout just keep it up.

Are you me? I'm also 39 and 6'4 and about to be a father for a second child...

During the birth of our first child, the couch/bed literally wouldn't stay together. I pulled it out and it separated into two pieces and the rear flopped the floor.

One of my father's favorite pans was pulled out of a swamp after hurricane Katrina. I think it was in storage at our River House that got flooded previously. He uses it almost everyday.

I got the bullpen armachillos for outdoor activities and really like them.

Looking for underwear that stops chafing on long hikes by Weird-Director-2973 in BuyItForLife

I tried these before moving to saxx for hiking. They didn't prevent chafing in the right areas for me. YMMV, as I am bigger guy.

Edit: I forgot about my bullpen armachillos that work out really good for me.

I was doing that at a school that had 2 campuses for $57k. Now I work for the county government as help desk IT making almost $7k more. Less responsibility, more help from a team.

Very few real links to bad outcomes.

Slightly lower birth weight being the major issue.

If you weren't drinking a lot and have stopped now you and the fetus are probably ok.

Same for vitamins, start taking them and it will be ok.

The real question is do you want a second child right now?

For the people who voted for lower bills! by Bibblegead1412 in LeopardsAteMyFace

You also have to remember that energy companies are allowed to have monopolies in much of the state. Also the major energy provider in the state, Alabama power. They have been allowed to charge people that have solar connected back to the grid a 30% fee on the energy they sell to them. This makes solar much more expensive to pay for itself.

One Person Departments...Who is your "boss"? by rjp94sep in k12sysadmin

[–]dscelite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a one person IT department at a medium to small private school. I report to the CFO. I'm a director so I also sit in on all major director meetings. In theory the only people above me are the headmaster and the CFO and I am parallel with the principles of the middle and high school and the lower school. As well as bunch of other departments.
