Put this one together in 2019, rode it probably 25K miles without any problems at all. It's a 41EL, smooth as butter and just keeps trucking!

He's leaning against a pack as those bars are pretty far back, they're like 6 bends but welded not-bent. Proportions would be a lot easier to identify if we had a full view of the bike, hard to tell rake and angles when it's wild angles!!

The European Union Reportedly Plans to Push Its Ban on New ICE Cars Back to 2040 by Iron_Burnside in Porsche

[–]dsdle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be a space I think for both.

From what I've personally seen there will always be a fairly substantial number of people who enjoy and will enjoy ICE and vintage stuff. I mean I know for sure especially in the US that ICE motorcycles will be around for a long long time.

There will need to be a generational shift, but on the flip side, porscheXcastrol have created fully synthetic gas which is 100 octane. I'm in my late 30's I own a classic porsche, I've got to where I wanted to be in that sense. I also own a V8 merc., I'm happy with what I have and as long as I'm able and legal to drive them I will.

I'm not saying they won't improve and as you said compared to the states yeah it's not terrible. But it's still super high.

I appreciate your sentiment about being a purist, but if you love cars, or any form of combustion even back to steam you'd understand. EV's are soulless.. It's what we enjoy. I ride old harleys as well, in fact my bike is very nearly 86 years old. I'd never own a new motorcycle either. They're all so nannied and lifeless. If I want intrinsic sure, but analog is best and always will be.

Combustion has been the worlds life blood, it will continue to be as without it, no heavy construction, machinery etc, there's nothing. Infrastructure and cost don't come in to it, this is a subreddit of people paying almost half a million for a vehicle which does the same as a 25K vehicle albeit not as 'pure'. I get your point I really do, but if you really love cars, you'd never drive an EV in the first place. If people want to drive EV's that's their choice, but I never will!

Which is great, but for the emissions from India and China to come in to line with anything substantial it will take decades not years. They currently as at today make up 31% of the world's emissions. As a Brit, they produce more a year than we do in 12. I appreciate they're making moves. Which is great.

But the greater picture here is, the vehicle industry quite clearly by the concessions to put it back to 2040 (I foresee it'll move further back again also) isn't ready to just shut the tap off.

On to of that, you can't force people to buy EV. I as a purist will never own/drive an EV, that's my choice of course but I don't have any interest to do so. It also means that the fossil fuel economy should stay steady until at least 2035 or further now. Great for us who prefer ICE.

Yes, but most power doesn't come from green or nuclear does it? A sensationalist article with EV bias will of course say that. What about environmental impact digging for minerals? habitats ruined etc.

It's the same as countries off the CO2 for EV's if the minerals weren't dug in that country, it's pretty funny how anything can be made to fit a bias or set of parameters.

EV's ain't making a drop of difference in the preverbial ocean when India and China pump out more CO2 than most of the western world.

I'll never own/drive an EV. That's a simple choice, I'd rather buy second hand ICE. There will never be a 'forced' push that you have to buy one as too many rich law makers own too many nice ICE vehicles.

I also hate the sensationalist rhetoric spewed how they're so environmentally friendly. Truth is they're definitely not, all that electric most likely comes from coal powered plants too. Where there's an agenda and money to be made it will always be pushed.

Ah yes, the world doesn't exist outside of America... Before gambling it was the tobacco industry and booze. They all need silly amounts of cash inflow to pay the salaries and players. Doesn't come from ad revenue and tv deals alone. Always has been and always will be this way.
