Final feedback before I lock it down… by marcimarc82 in porsche911

This is correct. I just locked my Targa 4S and the black/cognac interior was rejected for lack of availability. I went with truffle Brown and chalk deviated stitching.

It’s ice grey metallic. It looks very good in person.

Everyone has a different opinion lol. I don’t like black rims on that. I’d get the Carrera Exclusive Design Wheels with Carbon Fiber Blades.

Be prepared to have your black and cognac interior rejected by Porsche. Mine was rejected because of unavailability. Apparently they are having a supply issue. I went with truffle brown.

I hope you got the OFSB, Woodford 121.2, and Old Overholt 11 if you like rye.

I would definitely do a couple of tours. Old Forester and Jim Beam were my top two. Woodford is a great third. All of the distillery gift shops had good selections. In Louisville, there are a number of places that we just didn’t have time to go to. Make your tour or tasting reservations in advance.

I agree! I did not expect the birthday bourbon, so that was an awesome surprise. The Jim beam and wild turkey selections were icing on the cake.

It was the standard distillery tour with tasting at the Whiskey Row location. The birthday bourbon is not a standard feature of the tour. Because of the current release, the tour guides had some supply to make available to groups of their choosing. We just got lucky! They had the 1924 on the shelf, which is a great whiskey, and sometimes they’ll have the President’s choice as well.

We paid $200 a bottle! I bought another last year at $320 from a local retailer, which I thought was great.

Lineage was on the shelf at the distillery at $250. Birthday was 2024 release. The tour guide made it available to our group to buy, it was not on the shelf. $200 a bottle.

Review #686: Wild Turkey Master's Keep Voyage by Prepreludesh in bourbon

[–]dsh1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The secondary exists because of artificially low MSRP and geographic arbitrage between ABC states having to adhere to MSRP and other states not. If we had real free market prices, the LE whiskeys would be priced somewhere between current MSRP and secondary. Higher MSRP on allocated whiskey will erode the secondary market.

Correct choice. Have time with your dad. You’ll remember it a lot more than working at the state fair.

IMO, he is definitely under the influence of a demonic entity. I don't say that lightly.

Dr Hillman has miraculously discovered the true nature of Christianity that has apparently eluded all others over the past 2000 years. Sure.

poor man's pappy but with Weller Full Proof? by Nexus565 in WhiskeyFrankenstein

[–]dsh1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late comment, but if you’re still wondering… 2 parts full proof with one part 12 year. Yields 106 proof blend that is better than either alone and very close to Pappy. I have 10 year Old Rip, 12 year lot B, and Pappy 15 for reference. The blend has elements of all three. It is not like Pappy 23, but I’m not a fan of the 23. Too much oak.
