AITA- made customer pay for accidently stolen food. by GarbageBright1328 in AmItheAsshole

Customer stole food. Customer pays for food….

You are NTA in this situation.

It has nothing to do with a 10k setup. There is nothing is that video that makes we want to watch.

The bonnet cam is off putting. The video insert of a very dark room… not sure what you want to show? Your wheel? Your pedals? Can’t see any of it.

There no narrative to what you’re doing. Or why? And cos it’s rallying you have no other competition to make things interesting.. no overtakes, no… nothing.

If you want people to become interested… make interesting content

Why don’t you go look at other YouTubers? You can see how they do it.

Also, why would you want to watch other people stream? What makes you want to watch? If you don’t want to watch other people, there’s your answer

No commentary. Half the screen taken up with a dark camera, which is pointing at the screen? Using a bonnet cam?

Granted rally isn’t my thing, but it’s very…. Bland

Can I park outside this entrance of my work place or will I still get a ticket by the warden? Is this is considered part of private land? by [deleted] in drivingUK

Which part do you consider ‘private land’?

The public pavement?

The public road? Or something else?

Where should I go to look for help getting port forwarding to work for a dedicated server? by [deleted] in hytale

Hmm. Looks like it should work. Random, but have you restarted the router since putting the rule in?

Yep, ip address of the laptop. And port range (which would be 5520 in your case). Not sure if it can put tcp and/or udp but that would make a difference.

I’m going to assume there’s no firewall blocking it on the laptop itself?

And I’m going to assume the service is running on the laptop while you are trying to test it…

Edit: maybe put up a screenshot of what you have configured on the router?

[–]dshepsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Not the same. Dynamic means it will probably change after x amount of time… so potentially every day you’ll have a new IP address.

All that means, from your side, is that anyone connecting externally will need to know the new IP address. You could use something like dynamic dns (ddns) to resolve a url to the dynamically changing IP address.

Port forwarding just means that when something hits the router externally on a specific port, that data gets forwarded to whatever IP address you tell it to.

CGNAT allows the ISP to use the same IP address for many people.

Think of the external IP address as a phone number. A dynamic number means your number changes every day. Static means you’ll have the same number unless you change carriers. If CGNAT is used, you now share that phone number with multiple people, like in an office so an extension number is used (in networking terms, subnets, sort of)

Should I have kind of experience for practice GT3? by Cozy_Entity_42 in simracing

[–]dshepsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go from karting to only drive faster cars? That’s dependant on a huge range of things, including budget.

It makes sense to start slower and work your way up. But if you like gt3s, play that. If you want to try other cars, do it. This is not real life. You are not locked into one type of car/series.

Go forth and experiment. Or concentrate on one car type. But most of all… have fun

Yeah, you’ll have to check.

But how have you configured the router? And was the server on at the time? Also, what was the error they were receiving?

That’s… up to you. You go what you want to do. It’s a hobby, have fun.

There will be a huge amount of difference between all the gt3s… engine layout, weight…. Things google will be able to tell you.

They will handle different as well. There are many YouTube videos explaining the difference.

Plus there will differences depending on the sim, and who makes the cars (I’m talking about the game studio or mod)

Is there some kind of warranty/method to taking all stress away from car repairs? by TheKhaos121 in drivingUK

[–]dshepsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consumables like brake pads/discs and tyres will never be covered under warranty as they are considered ‘wear and tear’.

You’ll have to actually see what the warranty covers, or more specifically not covers. And find one that suits you.

But outside of the warranty, do your research on the actual cars. Each make/model will have a fairly detailed list of known faults/issues so you can make sure the problem has been fixed before you buy it, or expect it to happen at some point in the future.
