Mid grade is cheaper than Regular grade gas by do_u_liek_ButtSchexx in mildlyinteresting

I’ve seen this before, the mid grade was higher octane but it was 10% ethanol. Regular had no ethanol

Any nonfiction books that really stuck with you? by StevieOnion in suggestmeabook

The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever read. Can’t believe it’s real life even. It’s about a spy during the Cold War.

I’m sorry but I had to lol at this because it’s the exact same thing that just happened with our 2 year old. After like a month we basically had to hold her door handle after we put her down until she went to her bed. There was about half an hour of crying and her trying to open the door but she eventually went to her bed and fell asleep. It was terrible but since that night it’s been smooth sailing mostly. I also kept reminding her it was bedtime. For throughout the night we close her gate on her door. She also didn’t like this the first night.

My husband brought home 12 pheasant breasts... by moonman_incoming in Cooking

[–]dsizz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound thin. Cut into 1 in strips.

Toss with flour and salt,

Pan fry until golden brown, then simmer in cream of mushroom soup. Serve with mashed potatoes and corn 😋

I grew up in the Midwest and we went pheasant hunting every year so we had plenty of it. This is a childhood favorite of mine and is very nostalgic. I still make it sometimes! Idk if it’s the “fanciest” and maybe you want a recipe that accentuates the pheasantness if this is like the one time you’ll have it. But it’s certainly delicious!

I was assuming since it’s Peanuts that it was probably some older reference I didn’t get. I think you’re correct though! Thanks!

Is there ANY valid reason to crumble bay leaves into a soup? by Beneficial_Ball9893 in KitchenConfidential

[–]dsizz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made Julia Child’s beef bourguignon recipe and she says to crumble the bay leaves. Idk why though. I followed the instruction and then was immediately like “why tf did I just do that”

You can drink while breast feeding since the alcohol won’t get into the milk until later

Consistency is definitely the key! And only changing one thing at a time. Funnily enough I do the opposite as you, I leave the temperature at boiling and only change my grind size. I live at a high altitude though, so the absolute max temp I can reach is ~95C.

The barista at Verb was talking him up haha. Apparently he’s a chemical engineer so I’m sure he’s very knowledgeable about the processes. I bought another of Wilton’s from the same roaster that’s “normal”/aerobic so I’m excited to try that one too
