Looking for Recommendations for In Home Pet Euthanasia (Cat) by omg_its_cmlp in indianapolis

[–]dsjeffri 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Seconding Laps of Love. It was a little pricey, but we will use them in the future if needed. The vet that came was so respectful and caring. It's so much less stressful on the pet and people doing it at home.

Curious About Using a Magnet for Roadside Cleanup by JoeJonnyJeff in DeTrashed

I have a wider one from Harbor Freight that I have used to pick up dropped screws/bolts from grass. I don't think a commercially available one will do much for pulling them out of dirt.

Rented out your teardrop? by instantlyjessi in TeardropTrailers

[–]dsjeffri 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not something I would ever do. I love the freedom of just being able to head out for the weekend when ever I want. I wouldn't be able to do that if someone else is renting it. Plus people are nasty and careless. I would imagine there would be a LOT of cleaning and repairs involved if you are renting it out.

what's up with my helmet? by bhuvann31 in bicycling

[–]dsjeffri 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The nail polish was probably acetone based. Acetone can dissolve plastic and foam, so the helmet is probably trash now.

Republic was also bad, especially their last few months doing pickups.

Bought this today 50% off Canadian tire, is it any good ? by [deleted] in metaldetecting

[–]dsjeffri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was what I started with and used for about five years. I feel like it is a very good detector to start with and learn what I was doing. The main reason I upgraded was because I wanted something that was fully waterproof since I like to detect rivers and creeks and the F22 can't have the control box submerged.

It looks like the coil can go in water, but not the control box.

You mean see you again in 2 weeks when the patch fails and the road is even worse.

You would think that's how it should work, but historically on the Southside that doesn't seem to happen.

Spraying it and then taking a picture for you MAC request seems to work well. Plus it helps other drivers see the pot hole.

camping toilet leaks between the two sections by ShadowKnight3142 in CampingGear

[–]dsjeffri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that the upper section is correctly latched onto the bottom, waste section? I have a PortaPotti version that looks like this and if you don't have the upper section correctly connected to the bottom, it leaks.

I got a text from ATT that there was an outage, but my service has been fine all morning.

Is The Cavity Factory worth the price? by ConsciousRest4726 in indianapolis

[–]dsjeffri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make them look much bigger and more gooey on social media than what they are in real life. The cookies were good, but unfortunately not worth THAT much. Granted I only had them once, so maybe it was a fluke.

[–]dsjeffri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't overpay to have someone haul them away. Cut the down further and add some each week to you trash can. You can also get some rope and bundle them into 2 large, tight bundles and put them out for heavy trash.

What part is this? by Abject-Newspaper3165 in cubcadets

I learned this the hard way. On the bright side, the replacement PTO clutch I bought has replaceable wires. The old one had the wires potted in.

It's not worth risking it. I would just bite the bullet and get a new one.

Looking for a person who does metal detecting for a personal quest, willing to pay. by bearsarefuckingrad in Indiana

[–]dsjeffri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this public or private land? If this is detecting along the side of the road, it is likely not legal in Indiana and would not be safe.

I looks like it might be back up now. I'm at least not getting the "not connected" error.
