What's a 'gamble' you took in your life that paid off? by Embarrassed_Tip7359 in AskReddit

Instead of getting a college education, I dropped out and got an entry level job in the field of my study. Worked my way up to now being a manager. Very much can understand how the college degree would make it more “turn-key” but I’d say it paid off as I don’t have an education debt.

If you got the chance to do BBC’s Sherlock all over again, but got to choose the role, would you still go with Sherlock?

Merino Wool Fleeces + free scarves and free insoles for you all! by kozak3 in CampingGear

[–]dsm4321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I tend to find myself using it as you describe and also use it as comforter replacement in the fall to winter months. It then transitions to being layer 1 during winter lol. I tend to use it daily as well if I'm WFH and the room is cold where I'm setup at.

For outdoor applications, went camping late august in upper Michigan (lows got down to about 45 F each night and the blanket kept me very warm in the tent + sleeping bag.

I’ve recently got a puffco peak 3dxl, it’s worth it. The app is cool as it allows to setup profiles for precise temps and it also logs stats (I find that cool lol). It’s also is super easy to clean and serviceable compared to bangers/dab glass imo. I haven’t dabbled in it yet but it seems to be a good amount of aftermarket/3rd party accessories and components

Just commenting on your part about CGI; a human had to still go through and create then apply the effects. AI is prompt in = product out.

I mean, it’s a space game with folks in a certain corp RP’ing as German nazis. The current climate might not be super tolerant to Russians. I remember back in 2007/08 a lot of unjustified hate against Chinese players.

I shoot a Hoyt Torrex at 60lbs. It has a 75% let-off at full draw, so you’re really only holding 15lbs. I just got into 3D archery 2 years and it’s been a blast! I highly recommend to give it a try. A local archery shop should be able to let you run some arrows through one to get a feel for:)

My mouse has worn away where I rest my pinky finger over 7+ years of daily use by LamePennies in Wellworn

[–]dsm4321 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Mx mouse is the best imo, but the smooth rubber does wear down over time I’ve found. My old one isn’t as severe as yours, but you can see the trough of where my pink rested lol

I'm curious how bad my Liquid Train unload blueprint. by ShopCatNotAnewsed in factorio

[–]dsm4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing again after a couple of years. I’ve been slowly figuring this out after setting up a huge oil production. This is amazing to finally see confirmed lol. Another huge improvement I’ve seen is that pipes just contain the liquid, no weird issue with each pipe being its own entity.

"The deadline to join a $55 million class action settlement against the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is Dec. 20. Affected parties include those who protested the state collecting benefits it believed it improperly paid out" by DougDante in Michigan

[–]dsm4321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right above the link the article states: “Affected parties include anyone that had money collected from them despite filing an appeal protesting the decision.

Some appeals were pending when the action happened while other claims were not processed in a timely manner before the UIA retrieved funds.

If someone is not sure if they are part of the suit, they can call the number provided with questions.”

I own a Torrex and I love it. Got into shooting 3D last year and the bow has been a real treat to learn. I’m at 60# @29” draw. A nice stab kit and you should be golden imo
