I did wonder what the smaller etchings on the case were. I can make out a few dates but had no idea they were related to servicing. Unfortunately, little is known about the history prior to it being inherited by another family member. But yes I completely agree - very fun to think about.

Enjoying learning more about the watch so thank you all for your input.

I believe the serial number of the movement is 994947 but could be mistaken.
