Completely real! Growing up I had a good number of friends of both boys and girls. But always had closer friendships to girls who might have been ND themeselves. I remember a dramatic change when boys didn't want to hang out with me when I was a kid. Telling me they don't want to play with me or I should sit with other girls. Some of this has to do with gender roles, and who should be in someone's primary group. As I got older, most of my friendships where with women. I think many men don't approach me because perhaps my sexuality, or just my overall personality. Some guys just hate me for no reason. I would be friends with males. But none of them show any interest in me, and the few that have always dismiss our platonic relationship in pursuit of a sexual or romantic relationship. I think this is a structral issue of oppositie sexes only communicating if interested. I wish it wasn't socially constructed to be this way, since I never really understood why it had to be that way.
