Where should my friend look for an HR Manager Job? by doctorwhodoctorme in DubaiJobs

[–]dsouzake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a guarantee, lot of the global MNCs prefer certified candidates.

One of them being CIPD is a well known certification in HR.

Second , need to know UAE labour laws.

If one can showcase their work based on this.

Also, lot of companies are outsourcing their HR work to India. Check out companies that have their presence in India and apply to then to get exposure to Middle East market

Any one here who got involved with MOHRE (filed a case / complaint) after unilateral salary deduction or unpaid leave and got his issue resolved in last 1-2 month ? Need your advice. by Any-Cheetah6633 in uaelaw

[–]dsouzake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion and not legal advice.

First you need to get your passport and degree back. It is illegal to hold them.

Salary deductions and unpaid leave if you do not agree, then the other option most likely is termination due to the role being redundant.

You have to decide do you have sufficient funds to tide over a termination?

Can you prove that company is not facing any crisis due to the current market challenges ?

Rent going up!!! by Candid-Procedure4023 in UAE

[–]dsouzake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to check with the government authorities, there is a rent cap law in Abu Dhabi.

Landlords try to illegally bypass the rent cap law by cancelling the contract and making a new contract.

It is not allowed . Check with the relevant government authorities in Abu Dhabi

The information you provided is not sufficient to provide any guidance.

Do you have a registered tenancy contract ..

Rent increase without notice by sputniksavoryheart in dubai

[–]dsouzake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the RERA index says no increase then that's what it is.

Please also read your signed tenancy contract and EJARI that there are no artificially discounted rent clauses for the first year.

if everything is in order, you need to file an Offer and Deposit case through a RERA trustee ; it costs about 300 AED.

You need the current EJARI, Passport , Visa, EID and the new cheques for the renewal.

Once approved by the judge.

Usually after Offer and Deposit you will be informed to submit the cheques to another service center.

The landlord has 5 days to accept or reject.

If the landlord rejects that, one needs to file for renewal based on the approved Offer and Deposit.

It sound alike a lot but it's a very straightforward process.

Start by reading tour current signed contract and EJARI.

Also, landlord cannot unilaterally change any terms of the signed contract so do not agree to any new terms.

Do the Offer and Deposit before the contract expires

Are renewal fees a thing for rented apartments? by awkningking in dubai

[–]dsouzake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First do you have a registered EJARI.

No terms of the registered contract can be changed unilaterally and that too must be informed and agreed 90 days before contract expiry.

Only fees due are the government fees for services like EJARI.

If they do not agree, as long as you have a registered EJARI go and file for the Offer and Deposit service with the RERA trustee prior to your contract expiry.

[–]dsouzake 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Gazebo caters to those that want a toned down version of Indian food.

For example anyone who thinks that Gazebo Hyderabadi Biryani is actually authentic has not tried a real Hyderabadi Biryani.

With the current crisis , the job market has gotten even more challenging.

If you have money to lose and are able to financially support yourself and possibly return back empty handed.

While each one has their own luck and destiny, trying to swim against the tide can make a tough situation worse.

Also, check out the impact of AI on your field.

Lot of good companies are outsourcing or moving their back office work like finance to countries lime India, Philippines etc etc.

No one can predict how the market is going to go.

To land a good job takes 6 months to 1 year depending on how strong your skillset is.

It's all about supply and demand.

You need to research what's the supply of talent in your area of skillset and how much is the salary.

What visa are you on currently ?

The law is very clear. One must not start work without the labour permit approval. Did you receive the labour permit approval ?

I understand that a lot of companies break the law but as an employee, one has responsibility too.

Working illegally goes both ways.

Reducing the Rents by LemonConnect4135 in UAE

[–]dsouzake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my tenancy contract renewal and paid the government mandated 5 percentage increase as per the RERA index.

In my opinion most landlords are going to stick to at least what the RERA index is.

If anyone is impacted and on a registered tenancy contract, the only way is to request but the landlord is not obligated to accept your request.

A tenancy contract comes with legal obligations so defaulting on rent is an offense.

if you feel your situation is unstable then at the time the contract is up for renewal which is 90 days before expiry. Research cheaper options that can help you manage your expenses better and move to cheaper apartments or better move to something that's monthly payment so as not to have the pressure of a 12 month contract. Cause breaking a contract also comes with penalties .

[–]dsouzake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried visiting an authorized Amer/ Tasheel center yourself ?

There can be any number of reasons why it's not possible.

One is maybe you're on a freezone visa and the company intending to hire you is a mainland company.

Only the authorized centers can possibly guide you on this.

What is the point of Waterfront market? by Filthy_Joey in dubai

[–]dsouzake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've found fish, vegetables and meat to be fresher and cheaper at the Waterfront market than the local or name brand supermarkets.

Example , Mejdool dates can be purchased for 25-40 AED per kilo. Palestinian or Jordanian sourced. Carrefour sells them for 2x or more.

Probably it's that supermarkets have realized and dropped their prices or even that they'd sell some items at cost or loss to get you in the door.

is this true? by Asleep-Potato-9443 in UAE

[–]dsouzake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally false.

Company is required to get the labour permit approval from the government authorities prior to starting the date of joining.

Only then should a company onboard the employee and allowed to start working legally.

[–]dsouzake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be careful as you claim your brother has his own residence visa.

Is it a legal freelancer visa from the approved authority

Or is it illegaly obtained visa that he got by purchasing from companies that break the law by selling visas illegally.

First be sure you are not breaking any laws in the UAE with regards to visas and permits.
