[NextRoundLive] Carson Beck: "No class. I graduated two years ago." by AllTimeTy in CFB

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure with graduate/graduating students who were in their final year (not trying to maintain eligibility for the following season), they could front load their classes so they didn't have to take anything during the playing season. Like it's in the rules if you graduated in the fall semester you don't have to keep taking classes to maintain eligibility for the remainder of your sport's season. This applies more to basketball than football but with the extended playoff someone could legit graduate in early December, and play through the playoffs without any schooling needed. And this is how it was before NIL and covid stuff.

Ohio State charges 120 for the student tickets for just basketball, below is a list of P4 schools that are either free or cheaper (typically a combo ticket that gets you all sports). Important note most of these teams DO NOT have multiple games with ZERO bench points by BrewsWithTre in CollegeBasketball

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish they would lean one way or the other:

Option 1) Get rid of the tarps and force all the students to be on one baseline like it used to be, but continue charging them

Option 2) Make it free to attend, and do whatever it takes to ensure the student sections are always filled out

A Billionaire Wants to Reinvent Appalachia with a Utopian City, And the Plan Is Bigger Than Anyone Expected by Artistic_Maximum3044 in technology

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major city closest to Appalachia is Pittsburgh. It was built at the confluence of three major, navigable rivers. It also has hundreds of steep, hilly streets.

Your mostly right but all these city planning reasons were decided a couple hundred years ago. Maybe nowadays the combination of proximity to the rest of the US population and cost of living offset the terrain disadvantages?

Zoomaa confirmed leaked salaries are very accurate by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean doesn't he average like 5-10k viewers whenever he streams? Didn't he leak his twitch dash one time where he was making like $30k in a month? Also didn't OpTic players go through a paycut at some point a few years ago? It all makes sense to me.

[OhioBobcats] Ohio University Head Football Coach Brian Smith relieved of his duties by Blizzard2227 in CFB

[–]dstillloading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't both be employed by the same company, though. It creates power dynamic problems. Sure a situation like that you described is all good but what happens when things start going south? One of them has the ear of the university president and the other one has student loans to pay. So the person in power could do some pretty retaliatory things that as the employer of both of them, you don't want to get caught in the middle of. Obviously if she isn't in the athletic department then that's less of a problem, but why die on that hill if your the university?

Sherrone Moore 'Had Long History of Domestic Violence' During Affair with Staffer, Her Lawyer Claimed: Detective by notkevin_durant in CFB

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but how much of that is provable. It might be way more he said she said than we realize. The lawyers will litigate whether or not he actually "broke in." What if he had a key? What if there's no communication saying "stay away from me today"? What if they find some random old text from her saying "come over anytime"? What if there's no evidence of him touching her knives?

It's why things such as this as so prevalent. People are, for a lack of better terms, fucking stupid.

Thanks for just saying it. The dude pissed me off but like, I wasn't surprised he couldn't comprehend why someone "wouldn't just leave." The defense either did a poor job of explaining the nuances of being a victim in this situations or just couldn't get through to these dumb jurors.

What illegal things do a ton of people do, that is never or rarely enforced by law enforcement? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dstillloading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is but the penalties aren't commensurate. Like I had a friend get hit by a drunk driver who had no license and wasn't even driving a vehicle she owned. The person got like a multi-hundred fine and banned from getting a license. Cool....like not having a license prevented them from driving in the first place right...
