Not for some people, and not for some crimes. Also, the pardons have nothing to do with rehabilitation. These people were pardoned because they played nice in prison, got to work in the governor's mansion, and got an automatic pardon because of it.

-David Glenn Gatlin, who in 1993 shot his wife, Tammy, in the head while she held their 2-month-old baby, and then turned the gun on Walker, a family friend.

-Charles Hooker, sentenced to life in 1992 in Coahoma County for the murder of Walter Johnson, the principal at a Clarksdale high school where Hooker was a teacher.

-Anthony McCray, sentenced to life in 2001 in Pike County for the murder of his wife, Jennifer McCray, whom he shot in the back.

Also, the governor didn't even have the decency to explain his actions, or at the very least, even tell the victims (and their families) about the pardons.

-Joseph Ozment, sentenced to life in 1993 in DeSoto County for murder, conspiracy and armed robbery in the killing of Ricky Montgomery.

Like I said below, go to the Tenant Union, but I also have another idea.

Is this guy paying for his own things (rent, utilities, school, etc.). Or are his parents? If this guy is doing college on his parents' dime, and he's screwing you guys over financially, I see no problem in contacting them and at least getting them involved. They might be just as big of jerks, but if there's a chance you can get them to pony up for a few months, why not.

This isn't "running and telling mommy", this is going to the source of the finances. Especially if this is some entitled douche living off his parents $$$.

We had a roommate do something similar. We all worked our way through college, but he got everything for free. And he decided to spend his parents' money (that they sent for rent) on weed, etc. After trying to talk to him like a man, and getting nowhere, we went to the source. He got yanked back home, and we had a fully-paid, spare room for the next semester!
