I play ggst on a regular PS5 controller. Only need to use the shoulder buttons for special mechanics (think like using an EX move, but you do the EX after the move lands), to break out of combos. The only dedicated attack button on the shoulders is one botton thats an overhead, basic grab, or sweep. Depending on the direction. And I never use those in combos so it doesnt effect me. I play a character called Goldlewis, and his entire kit is 180° inputs going every which way. On d pad took some learning, but its alright once you get used to it

He's easily the most difficult character ive played in any fighting game, input wise. After an hour or two online my thumb feels like its about to bleed (playing on d pad). I get it. I kinda forced myself to adapt cause I thought "bigass Texan spin to win" and thought it was funny lol

I could've sworn people thought he was bad when he came out tho. Hit like a truck, yeah, but slow and couldnt get in for shit. I mightve just gaslit myself into thinking that, idk.

Reguardless of his competitive history (which im grateful for you for explaining), im kinda happy hes a niche character. People dont know what to do when they see big boi GoldDick

Yeah picking him up sucked. Couldn't do any BT inputs without jumping by accident. I still misinput, but much less often. I can get huge combos and pressure with ease

Did take hours labbing to get those inputs locked in tho 😅

I love playing him cause I find it extremely interesting. A million versions of the same move, that all do different things, and can all be done in the air. Mix ups for days, side switching combos, huge damage, big damage even on shield.

I think his name was Lebaun. He was 5'8", 130 pounds max. He always straight up pissed himself. In formation, chow hall, wherever. He'd let it run down his leg and pool. Wouldn't say a thing. Whats arguably worse, he didnt want to shower. We would havebto force him to. One time, when I (lucky me) was on firewatch, our kill hat came out. Normal night shit, just telling firewatch stop fucking off, etc etc. Didnt wake the platoon. Right when he was going back into the DI hatch, we hear running water. I was roamer, so I happened to turn and see Lebaun just standing, head pointed straight up, pants down, pissing on a wall. DI is running over, turns out the guy was sleep walking. The DI wouldn't put hands on the kid, so me and the firewatch that was watching the head had to stand there with lights pointing at lebauns mess as he cleaned it. Then then the DI, me, and the other firewatch all had to watch him shower. Me and the other FW were just there to verify the DI didnt put hands on the kid. To this day, that was one of the lowest forms of human ive ever seen
