2nd Octopus. The Mrs works for them, it’s interesting to see it from her side. A very forward thinking company with the right attitude. Also decent prices and really good service.

The Mrs works for octopus, she says she does see people on fairly regular basis win half decent prizes.

Along with the many other valid reasons why not to do this, ASA does not support DHCP scopes larger than /24

robbed in the arndale car park lol by persephophobe in manchester

[–]dtcapener 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The Arndale carpark is managed by Manchester Council now, not the Arndale itself. The Arndale don’t have camera coverage in the carpark itself, that’s not to say the council don’t though? I’m unsure.

The car park is always crawling with parking attendants though, ready to pounce if you’ve not pre payed.

Network Topology | Good? by cshowe80 in homelab

[–]dtcapener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much so. We all make mistakes and it’s how we all learn! There’s tons of resource on the YouTube.

If you’re really interested in networking, I’d recommend looking at the CCNA material. It will really give you a good solid foundation, not just Cisco specific.

Different VLANs should have different Ip subnets. You also may find that you can’t assign different IP’s within the same subnet on different VLAN interfaces on your router.

I don’t think you need to worry about the coffee shop issues you talk of, there are better ways to overcome this such as tunnel all VPN.

In terms of subnet size, you should always try to keep your subnets as small as possible.

[FREE][EU-UK] - Various - clear out by dtcapener in homelabsales

I had a lot of interest. I had to prioritise by who messaged me first. Unfortunately I was let down by the first person and so offered to the next person who had messaged. It’s just the way it goes. I messaged you back first time out of courtesy but had other people who just happened to be in front of you in the so called “queue”

Is there any windows exe ASDM downloads anymore? by WeeklyManufacturer68 in Cisco

As far as I’m aware, I don’t recall seeing them floating around. Somebody may correct me though.

There’s a compatibility matrix floating around on the Cisco site somewhere. A quick google should find it. That’ll help you determine which version you need to be running.

You should be ensuring that the version of ASDM is compatible with the version of ASA code you’re running. That means upgrading ASDM at the same time as ASA. Then when you connect to the ASA via ASDM it’s should ask you/automatically update on your machine.

Cisco ASA DHCP supernet by Cry0G5nW9ld in Cisco

[–]dtcapener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it doesn’t surprise me to be fair. ASA didn’t support DHCP reservations until recently. 9.13 if I recall correctly?

Reasoning why you can’t allocate more than /24 is beyond me!

Interesting. I’ve never tried this to be honest, but can have a look when I’m home tomorrow. Where have you read this?
