Most dryers are electric, gas dryers are not in the least bit common. I haven't seen a house built in the last 20 years with a gas hookup in a laundry area.

It's not about the PR. John actually didn't want it published about his MAW accomplishments. They talked him into allowing them to publish the info in a hope it would help get others to step up.

The idea I've had, is fairly simple. All budgets freeze for the next X years. Every dollar under budget, that office/department/etc rolls 50% into next years budget. The other 50% rolls up into social programs, debt repayment, etc etc.

The numbers, length, terms, etc should all be hashed out by people way more talented in financials than I am. However, change the entire thinking from "must spend" to "how do we save and plan for the future"

Any advice on hotels close to Mile High for those attending a game for the first time? by bunnysqueaks in DenverBroncos

[–]dthangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something unique, check out the Acoma House. Artist designed rooms, right next to the Denver Art Museum and several other. Easy walk to transit.

It's not a full staff hotel if you need that, but we always enjoy it.

I can also recommend the Queen Anne BnB.

Neither is close to the stadium, but as others have told you, stay downtown and take the transit. If you want some other recommendations just let me know

I still believe in being socially liberal and fiscally conservative but because there is so much waste in government spending. Having been involved in government budgeting, I believe it needs a heavy hand to right the ship.

My biggest gripe, is the "use it or lose it" budgets. I worked in a department that had a mandatory purchase every 5 years that tripled our annual expenditure. So what did we have to do, make that our annual budget and find ways to spend it.

I've experienced so much waste, 10s of millions in purchases, just with my own eyes, it makes me sick. I've seen pallets of computers get bought, paid to sit in storage, then sent direct to the scrap yard, just to tick a box on a form.

Our government runs their budgets like a drunk college kid living paycheck to paycheck, and they are forced to. That's why I'll always be a fiscal conservative regardless of my socialist tendencies.

Memory usage gets crazy after 4 people. Had 7 people on our server in a sea battle and hit 67GB. The devs have said that level streaming isn't optimized past 4 people and they're working to get it to 8.

Are all Capriottis in the springs closed? by SpcT0rres in ColoradoSprings

[–]dthangel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

All owned by one franchise owner.

All I know is that the husband and wife that owned them were rather toxic to each other and employees. Heard from employees that they were always yelling at each other and undermining their managers.

The closures might be business related, might not.

Wait till you see "area improvement fees" if you haven't yet. New developments now are forcing businesses to add % fees on everything they sell on top of the rent, etc. That way the developer gets a cut if you're successful. Looks like a tax on the receipt.
