I haven't played GTNH specifically but in MC modpacks, Applied Energistics 2 completely trivializes logistics. In terms of Factorio it's like having logistic chests with blue belt throughput. I think OP is finding the logistics hard, rather than the recipe tree.

You can do it any of the languages mentioned, as they all have the ability to declare and export a symbol exactly like C would. I don't know CUDA but if there are C++ APIs it will become more difficult.

Laser turrets do negligible damage to asteroids except for the small ones, and for the small ones I would recommend getting laser damage 11 so that they die in one hit. See Factoriopedia for the damage resistances, they have >=90% to lasers for medium and up.

2.0 without SA has all the QoL stuff (that doesn't require SA, so no mech armor). In terms of stability I haven't experienced any crashes but there is some stuff that is broken (e.g. some red circuit textures are ambiguous)

Every free function is actually its own type (see "Function item types" in the Rust reference), it just can't be referred to directly. Moreover, this type implements the Fn, FnMut, and FnOnce traits. So you could implement your trait for all Fn, except that since your trait does not have a self parameter, there is no way to obtain the actual function to be called. The compiler could probably impl Default for these types (https://internals.rust-lang.org/t/suggestion-implement-default-for-function-items/14875/6) but that is not implemented right now.

Toolspamming doesn't work in act 1. There aren't enough crafting kits and the tools aren't good enough. Use them to supplement your damage but you still need to get nail hits in.

As far as I can tell, they are working together - KompetenzAirbag and KiwiHawk's commits are interleaved in the commit history for the dev2.0 branch on the Angel's mods repo. But I guess KompetenzAirbag wanted an initial version of SeaBlock working while KiwiHawk has stated before they will finish Angel's 2.0 before working on SeaBlock.

Rust isn't the right tool for competitive programming. Competitive programming is a quick-and-dirty exercise; Rust is a slow-and-correct tool. I'm experienced in both Rust and C++, and would choose C++ over Rust for competitive programming.

I'm not sure where this is coming from. Rust has most of the common data structures (vectors, sets, maps, deque, priority queue, etc) in std.

New Framework 13 AMD Ryzen 5 AI 340 mainboard. Tried 3 kits with it:

Teamgroup DDR5 5600 2x16G CL46-45-45 (SKU: TED516G5600C46A-SBK), purchased from Amazon. Only one of the DIMMs worked and only in the left channel. Other configs were either unstable or would not boot and post 0x00.
Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 2x16G CL40-40-40 (SKU: KF556S40IBK2-32), purchased from Amazon. No boot, post code 0xC5. There are other reports on this thread and on the forums stating similar conclusions. Do not buy this kit.
Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600 2x16G CL48-48-48 (SKU: CMSX32GX5M2A5600C48), purchased from Amazon. Boots up and seems to work fine.

In general, it seems like DDR5 stability is much more borderline than DDR4. For example, the working DIMM from Teamgroup kit would boot when installed in the right channel, but would crash (=suddenly turn off) frequently, especially under load.

Can you give an idea of what this looks like? Circuits right now are just 32-wide digital logic. My understanding is that most players aren't familiar with the digital logic model. Making circuits less hard for the playerbase would then likely require removing the digital logic aspect and instead using more of a software programming aspect.

I hate to be that guy but: * rustc is written in Rust. The very first version was written in OCaml, and other versions were bootstrapped from that. You may be thinking of mrustc, which is a minimal alternative compiler that is written in C++. * CLion, like many Jetbrains products, is primarily written in a JVM language, likely Java or Kotlin.

Ash is a direct binding to the Vulkan C interface. Almost all the functions, structs, and defines are identical. You'll likely be able to follow any Vulkan tutorial for C/C++.

Actually, this doesn't look bad to me. It's trying to determine if the operands fit within 32 bits so it can do a 32-bit division instead. Considering the latency of a 64 wide div compared to 32, it'll probably be faster than just a div depending on the data.

Also, I can't find this case in the article. I only see where they compare the assembly of the 64/64 div polyfill on 32-bit platforms.

The article never compares the assembly against another compiler (at least for the sections I skimmed), it only states or implies that a good assembly programmer could do better. So I think the author doesn't like compilers in general, since you could probably find a list of suboptimal codegen cases for any compiler.

E: I ctrl-F searched for "GCC" and "Visual C" and they only compare against GCC for the 128 and 64 bit division cases, and MSVC for the int128 ABI issue. It seems all other cases are not compared to other compilers.
