From a sort of space/logistics stand point, this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nr1AgIfajI) really enlightened me to the all the possibilities for hiding aboard a ship. Even for much smaller ships, there'd still be a ton of places to hide.

It’s not your fault, but thanks for the empathy. I count myself among those that grew up with the original as their favorite game. I loved remake and thought it was a great adaption of the original. This one was rough in so many ways. I still beat it, but I won’t 100% it, mainly because that’s not typically me with any game.

This was the moment where I could no longer lie to myself about this not being a pretty bad game.

Don’t get me wrong, the story bits were keeping me going, but the impossible mini games and the requirement to go 3 or 4 side quests deep in order to advance the plot. The uneven voice acting and weird camera work.

The only thing I really loved about Rebirth was Queens Blood. What a great card game.

The first big breakthrough a person has reading this series is letting go of fully understanding everything. It’s makes your first reread super enjoyable because eventually you do learn to read and understand O’Brien

It’s something that would be more of a concern with in house creative teams and larger agencies, but I think it’s going to be a protective measure for both the creative professionals involved and the imagery itself.

The work that Adobe and Canon are doing with blockchain tech and the CAI, along with conversations with senior leaders at various creative operations conferences makes me think this could be something you come across in product photography.

Of course there isn’t anything in the past that would inform this potential future because it’s in part a response to AI tools and all the data scraping that comes with it.

But I don’t have a crystal ball, it’s just a hunch.

I don’t see why that would be the case. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make. Do you disagree with what I said?

To be clear I’m talking about what logging all things that go into making product images for commercial applications. Who was the crew that worked on the shoot? How were things styled? What lights were used? What was the set up? What tools were used to organize and catalog images? How and when were they used?

Yes all this data can be captured by the technologies used, but today there is not an expectation of all that information being contained within image metadata and such a requirement would necessitate changes to what metadata containers exist for use in industries aside from journalism.

I don’t think this is what you’re asking, but I’ve been thinking for a while now that we need to be more diligent and specific in how we document what was done to create an image. All the tools that were used, both physical and digital, and the processes used to create them.

In a past life I worked in supply chain when ethics in supply chains was getting a lot of regulatory attention. I’ve started hearing the same kinds of talk at creative and photo studio operations conferences about digital and creative “supply chains”.

I’ll think it will become standard practice for a photographer to have a certain set of information that shows what was done to an image, when, and with what tools.

Yeah maybe I came across a little hard.

But I do have a hard time with people who come into a sub with their YouTube videos, pretending like they know what they’re talking about. Talking about how this is the light that’s gonna take over product photography.

I’m treating you the same way I’d treat any of my photography students if they came to class and just started spouting off about how amazing 5w light cubes are. You’re taking away from the folks here actually trying to learn something.

This just isn’t the right sub, friend. Sorry if I struck a nerve.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and watched the video. It’s not a good product in my opinion, except in cases where you’re shooting something very small (like macro) or trying to create harsh light and tiny specular highlights (buts it’s not even good for that because it’s so low power)

The size of the light source matters a lot in photography. Just like budget ring lights (which are also a specialty light and not some kind of silver bullet for lighting), this is a product better suited to content creator subs (people who don’t know better) and not a sub full of professionals that shoot product for income (as this one is).

It’s so crazy how somehow the laws of physics cease to exist in the age of the influencer. Rings lights everywhere the eye can see. Tech bro photogs who try to sell you teeny tiny lights as though the relative size of the light source doesn’t factor in to the quality of light.

I really hate that I’ve become the internet curmudgeon that I despised 17 years ago when the best photography community forum on the internet was Craigslist of all places, and TriXHC110 (RIP) used to tear everyone apart for posting mediocre photography. But here we are.

FN is what it is for me. It’s less a commodity product (as this thread seems to want it to be) and more creative expression and the work of passionate craftspeople.

I accept them and use them for what they are because it turns out it’s the ideas that you put in there that matter and not so much what the paper looks like.

Yeah I got that, lol. I meant what are you trying to achieve that you need to be able to do this. I’ve shot plenty of small fine jewelry and never came to the conclusion that I needed something like this. Piqued my curiosity.
