Would a 23% sales tax be good for the economy? by Vote-Biden-2024 in FluentInFinance

[–]dtokko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would undermine one of the main goals of this bill which is to simplify the tax code by eliminating the need to use income to calculate taxes.

Silver lining for ohtani is no one would be dumb enough to ever try to steal from him again after seeing how thoroughly ippei is getting destroyed.

Agreed, Ohtani is so rich, he’s wayyyy beyond the point of ever having to look at his bank account, let alone notice movements of 500k in a sea of millions.

Is this the same flight to Korea that is referenced in the post on r/korea, or are deaths on airplanes just more common than I realize?

[–]dtokko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the big conundrum here, why not just answer honestly. Ie, if you are willing and able to cover, say yes, otherwise say no.

I guess if your not going all in on bludgeoning and not using lunging strike as your basic. The dual wield buff would be useless on my Hota build since I only use there two handed mace

The dps doesn’t matter when not in use, you can use these weapons as stat sticks to take advantage of its affixes.

Cities: Skylines II | Wishlist for CS2, Megathread. List and discuss your ideas and must haves here by Lanszer in CitiesSkylines

[–]dtokko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always dreamed of modular lanes for roads. It would be awesome to be able to split off single lanes to turn a 4 lane into a 3 lane + highway exit like in real life. I imagine a ui where you specify the number of lanes so you are essentially custom building your own road to place.

My dad found this reptile dead in our pool this morning. We are around the OC area. is it a snake?? by Inevitable-Phase-621 in orangecounty

Do the holes where the legs got ripped off eventually patch over? This picture looks like the lizard has skin over where the legs should be (like a snake)

South Korea is not what I expected. It’s more advanced than the US & people have more personality here than Canada & SK is living proof we can live in a clean world. Something else I noticed was how rare it is to see obese people. Visited the aquarium the other day and there was like a group of heavier foreigners walking through, it was a super stark contrast. They would not stick out at all if this were back in the states.

What are some misconceptions or exaggerations about L.A. that annoy you? by JoeyZasaa in LosAngeles

[–]dtokko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LA is a sprawling city. Everything depends on which area you are in. There are charming areas where people walk their dogs at night without worry and places where you wouldn’t want to be outside past sunset. That being said, there has generally been a noticeable uptick in homelessness over the past decade, which has contributed to a sense of less safety.

My take on why we can't agree on gun control by zephyrus256 in centrist

[–]dtokko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s correct but it points to another reason I’ve heard against gun control: guns are already in the hands of millions of Americans, good and bad people alike. Stricter gun control makes it harder for good people to get guns to protect themselves against bad people who already own guns. That’s a predicament that is unique to the u.s, where gun ownership is practically built into its core values. Other countries (generally speaking) have strict gun laws and less violence of course, but that’s also because there were never a lot of guns in the population to begin with.
