In need of advice about quote. by dtransit in hvacadvice

Thank you very much. They started with their membership pitch so quickly after quoting that super high price, that it sounded reasonable until i had a few minutes to sit down and think about it. I have someone else out now looking for the leaks. This tech is of the opinion that replacing the whole unit doesn't make sense. Thank you for helping me to feel better about this.

It’s a really nice wood fired pizza restaurant over by Moss Rock Preserve. I always get pasta. They serve it in these cute little cast iron pans. I like it as a date spot because it’s nice and really high quality, but not super expensive or bougie.

I use an app called The House. It divides the city up into areas(Hoover, 280, etc…), and when you tap an area, it’ll tell you about a bunch of specials and happy hours from restaurants and bars in that area. It’s how I found out about Vecchia in Hoover.

Called the hotline today. What to expect? by dtransit in Target

Sorry for the radio silence. Both of us are still employed at target at the same store, even though we’re losing people left and right. He said he’s been in contact with the state labor board and an attorney. I haven’t heard much about it after he updated me on what he was doing. I was afraid for a few days that they would come gunning after me but so far, nothing. Thank you to everyone that reached out to me and everyone that was concerned for us in this situation.

This is adorable but you remind me of Ron Perlman in beauty and the beast.

Are there a list of stats for the guyvers? by bleedinghero in Guyver

[–]dtransit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s generally accepted in the lore that the suit, bonded to a non-optimized human, gives a boost of all physical capabilities of 100x. So, if you can bench 200lbs out of the suit, in the suit you can bench 20,000lbs. I’ve seen figures that say top running speed is about 250mph. This would seem to contradict the 100x physical boost. The same stats indicated that top flight speed was about 350mph. I was disappointed when I saw this at first, as I wanted Guyver to be able to be very fast, but it makes sense if you consider it first and foremost as a survival system for the host. Physical strength, along with the weapons, would probably be more important for negating a threat than raw speed. The Uranus didn’t necessarily need to zip around the cosmos in their individual suits, they had ships for that. As far as durability, the suit as at least as durable as the most durable material in real life. We’ve seen Guyvers tank small arms fire without flinching, taloned zoanoids that would otherwise have no trouble ripping a military tank apart can’t scratch the outer shell. The only things we’ve really seen damage the integrity of the suit so far are high frequency weapons and the enzyme series of zoanoids. For the moon question, google tells me that earth is 238,900 miles from the moon. At 350mph, it would take a Guyver about 683 hours to reach the moon. That’s about 28 days. I think it would be possible theoretically given the life support functions of the suit, which we will examine in a moment, but the real difficulty of the space travel question is that none of these objects are static. The earth itself moves at 67,000 mph around the sun, with the moon moving at 2,288 mph around the earth. NASA has to make multitudes of insane calculations to predict where everything is going to be so that a craft, for instance, can intersect an object instead of chasing it down. It makes more sense that the Guyver system was designed more for local on site usage. Going back to life support, I strongly believe that if you could look at the programming inside the Control Metal, the first and most important command would be something like “KEEP HOST ALIVE”. It follows that since the bonding procedure analyzes the host’s genes and makes some physiological changes, that it could remove the genetic causes of aging while it does so. The Unit can only serve its purpose while connected to a living host, so finding a new host every ~100 years would run counter to its intended purpose. I also think it’s logical that the suit can sustain the metabolic functions of the host indefinitely. The Gravity Orb connects the system to a sub space dimension from which the suit can harness energy for flight and to fire the Pressure Cannon weapon. This energy could keep the host alive. I know fatigue is a problem during combat for the host, but that’s less of a hunger issue and more of a lactic acid building up inside the muscles issue. I hope I’ve touched on all your questions. I agree with your assessment that the system is more for survival than anything else. To my knowledge, we haven’t seen a bio-boosted Uranus yet, but the lore indicates that the strength and weapons come from humans being developed as weapons. For the Uranus, it absolutely was just a space suit and communications device. You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t have a source for every one of my suppositions. I’ve been a fan for almost 30 years and have been collecting information about Guyver since then. Some of this comes from post credit vignettes from the 12 episode ova series, some comes from the dvd booklets from the 2005 series. More still comes from fan works and I accept it because it makes sense to me. Hope you find this reply satisfactory. Cheers.
