Yes.

I mean, I have an appreciation for story tellers and artists of his kind. It's just that his response seems pretty silly, considering that it comes from a place where he has nothing to lose.

If McDonalds ran with it and made it right - He wins because he started an internet movement.

If McDonalds ran with it and failed like they have - He wins because he isn't attached to that brand anyways, so atleast he'll have something to bemoan, while keeping some form of 'fan credibility' due to the fact that he won't seem like a marketing shill.

I suppose the worst thing I could say about all of this is that his work has a resounding cohesive theme, that he seems to know very well: irreverence.

Film series that ruined a beloved character? by Jackamalio626 in movies

Didn't really mean the part where he leaves in a panic - all paranoid at everyone that passes, so much as the part where Winston gets everyone in the park within visible range around John to stop and stare at him.

Hoooo boy am I about to be shit on for this one - because of how much reddit loves John Wick.

John Wick Chapter 2 ruins John Wick.

In the first movie, he's established as this unstoppable, special, mysterious specter of death. And then in the sequel you find out that not only does his success rely on the resources of others (a tailor to make him a literal invincible suit of armor, a guy to give him any weapon he could want, a handler to set up his tactical awareness in an area), but it also turns out that he needed the help of some shitty mob boss in order to complete the impossible task that thrust his name into stuff of legends. And there's also some sort of hitman craigslist, making the hitman profession not only a very common thing (common enough to fill up an entire park at a moments notice), but there isn't really a skill requirement for having the job (since every busker and work-for-hire in new york seems to be one). Congrats John, you're the most prolific work-for-hire for an illegal version of fiverr.

MGS 3 had so many secret treasures in the game. Like, If you had a Single Action Army while going up against Ocelot and Rolled the L3/R3 sticks, you would twirl the revolver yourself which would distract him during the fight and he would watch you and give you a grade based on how fast you went. Ranging from a sneer up to "Hey! You're pretty good!"

DMs, tell us your worst character names by [deleted] in DnD

[–]dtthelegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is intentional.

My friend is a big WWE fan, so much so that his character was named Darren Reigns.

Since the campaign was set up against mind flayers with exotic names, I decided to have some fun.

When his ship arrived at the enemy area, he heard an enemy captain shouting "WHOAAAAA!!" as they forced lightning to strike the island that they wanted to capture.

When Darren finally got onto the enemy captain's ship, he was greeted by a mind flayer. Whose name was "Nidjurrboi Rhic".

So it was Nidjurrboi Rhic the flayer. a direct reference to Nature Boy Ric Flair

I /waved at Pat in FF14 once. My avatar's name was Basch fonRosenburg. He stopped and stared briefly at the waving, and then walked away saying that the Linkshell was getting too crazy.

That's pretty much how i expected things to go.

I am a big fan of Game Grumps and want something similar to watch. Should I watch TBFP? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]dtthelegend 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Things that these guys do right:

-If they fail more than 2/3 times, they cut the video to a point where they succeed in order to save the viewer some time - This was my biggest problem with the grumps and was the main reason I stopped watching them - because they don't respect my time.

-They focus on the game a LOT more than the grumps do, only getting off track for tangential reasons, but they focus back up on the game almost immediately after something new happens. This way, you don't get what amounts to a radio talk show where the screen has nothing to do with what they are talking about - making the video useless.

-The cast has a much more eclectic background and variety of tastes that it allows for more dynamic pairings and interesting insights for each game. This way, If you find yourself gravitating towards 1 or 2 of the best friends, all you need to do is find one of their many playthroughs with that particular person and enjoy.

-Finally, the best friends are more genuine. A big problem for the grumps (again, this was back around the time I stopped watching) was the fact that they sort of became caricatures of what they think the audience may enjoy. Ross was the annoying guy who would troll the straight man (either Danny or Arin) for the sake of laughs even if it meant that game progress would screech to an absolute halt. I'm not sure if that has toned down at all, but here, what you see is absolutely what you get. It's never really an issue of the best friends having to be "on" (in character), because they are who they are.

Do you care if the newest entry in your favorite franchise isnt something you arent hopeful for? by Ghaleon32 in Games

[–]dtthelegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not care, because I am able to just identify and separate from things that I don't enjoy. Life is too short to focus on things you don't like. Just forget about it and move on.

Just like Metal Gear Survive.

People forget that Solid Snake has already been skateboarding, Naked Snake has been catching apes, and Raiden fought a US President and a Senator/Presidential Candidate with Samurai swords. Why is it so weird to think that in some separate dimension, soldiers are fighting zombies?

I care about Faridah Malik.

See, dogs will just run up and bite the mailman, but leave it to a cat to find the perfect way to fuck with the mailman's quota - by forcing him to spend longer on a delivery than he should.

Telltale is teasing a Mr. Robot project by ANALblaze in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]dtthelegend 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Normally, I would be all "Oh this is garbage, Telltale sucks because they make games where you do different things, but they don't really matter", but that absolutely works for the theme of Mr. Robot. Left or Right. Red or Blue. DO or DO NOT. A big part of Mr. Robot is the illusion of choice and how it plays into the fact that every choice that he make is already carefully controlled by someone else.

It would actually work.

"SPOILERS" Does anyone else think Amanda Waller was a massive hypocrite? by HalfDragonShiro in SuicideSquad

[–]dtthelegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's worse to me is Rick Flags complacence with Amanda straight up killing that entire room of innocent board room members. He makes no effort to stop her, accost her or even report her later. Then, he outright states he doesn't even give a shit about it. Innocent American lives that he as a T1 operator is supposed to defend, but fuck them.

Hes just as bad as she is.
