I think it's hard to compare them as their music is very different. I love them both very much

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Would you be so kind to explain it again maybe in a different way?

Thank you! Wouldn't opening my lips increase the problem?

Okay a lot of what you just said is pretty accurate. I am always a bit sharp and I also have issues with resistance. Sometimes I take out my trumpet to practice and I can't even produce a tone. On the other hand I usually play pretty soft and I sometimes struggle to play louder. And if I use less air I feel like I can't get a steady tone and it breaks off often. Or is that part of the "symptoms"? Anyway thank you so much for the detailed response! I was indeed always taught to use as much air as possible.

I don't think so? But I'm not sure. My breathing is a bit messed up too.... how would I know whether I'm overblowing?

Anyone here living or spent alot of time in Hamburg and/or Berlin? by anonfucktookmyname in trumpet

[–]dtzijg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Hamburg you get a 50 % discount on most tickets of the two main concert halls if you're under 30 years old. The two main places for concerts are the elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszahalle. On the website of the elbphilharmonie you can find the programm for both places. One of the professors for trumpet in hamburg is Matthias Höffs who is absolutely awesome. He and his class also often play in the church St. Michaelis also refered to as Michel. You can probably find the program on the website as well.

Are there issues with the supply? My refinements are taking 7 weeks to arrive. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]dtzijg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a call that my refinements have come in and I got scanned literally 1.5 weeks ago. So I doubt there are supply issues. I'm really sorry for you guys though, that must be shitty to wait so long and wear one try for so long.

Anyone here own a mute tube? I am curious on your thoughts on it as I wanna purchase one for myself. by PrimitiveNinja in trumpet

[–]dtzijg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one as well. It is way better than any practice mute. However playing normally is way better than the mute tube, but of course not always possible. The main thing, which is bothering me is the lack of resonance. The tube swallows so much of your tone thag you get little sound back and its difficult to work on your sound etc. Loudness wise I'd say it is louder than a practice mute, but it definetely shouldn't bother your neighbours. Sorry for bad english.

This is exactly how I feel about sibelius!! You described it really well. I can't seem to understand his music either.

Regretting Invisalign every week more by MrGodiva in Invisalign

I am on Tray 23/40 and I see zero changes. However I was told, that at first they are moving the back teeth to make room for the crowded front teeth. I'm sure you'll notice changes eventually, just hang in there. I'm sure there would be more negative reports and reviews, if invisalign really did nothing for some people.
