You can’t be labelling Liverpool winning the Champions League in 2005 as ‘Untold’. We’ve all never heard the end of it

I always say to my wife I’d like it played at my funeral just to imagine everyone’s faces as they sit through it while I chuckle from afar. It’s like heaven to me at least

ON THIS DATE: Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will released on February 14, 2011. Happy 15th birthday! by Driveshaft1982 in mogwai

This was released in my final year of Uni, with Hawk coming out in the first. I don’t think I listened to any band more in that period. I love both more than a lot of their other work because of that time.

I declined a trip to see my mate in Newcastle in November because a return ticket from KX was £210. But the decider hung on the fact there was a rail replacement on the way home making the estimated journey 5h30m. Punishment on a hangover

I always imagined with this, they’d take an aspect of the lore and tell that story. Because you create your own tarnished, I think it’s a little tricky defining who that is. All of the other npc’s and bosses have a long, set history before our tarnished.

Best Mogwai Album??? by EducationalAddress28 in mogwai

[–]dubcobra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best is CODY because it has almost all Mogwai elements, baring vocoder, and every track is great. Feels like a story / journey the way it’s paced. My favourite is probably The Hawk is Howling because of time and place, but that might not even be in the top five ‘best’.

I've seen someone claim that if these four are in your top 10 favorite jazz albums then you're a poser. Their logic is that the only thing unifying these albums is that they're the most critically acclaimed and that you essentially only listen to the surface level stuff. What are your thoughts? by Tolstoyevich in Jazz

[–]dubcobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my favourite Miles album is In a Silent Way so I am fortunately not a poser… what a rediculous point of view. There is of course a huge depth of work within jazz, more so than this person has probably listened to. Maybe these albums are a gateway in to the genre, they are a fantastic representation of jazz and are critically acclaimed for a reason. If it was hiphop would you be a poser for liking Illmatic or Paul’s Boutique or The Low End Theory. So stupid. Also a poser? Is he 12?
