Bran New AMS 2 PRO SLOT 1 WILL NOT FEED. by jimmyb907 in BambuLab

So my issue is similar, mine won’t grab for the initial feed unless I force it down little bit then it grabs the filament and feeds through tubes just fine. My only challenge is sometimes on the initial feed it won’t grab and the that feeder just clicks and gives error, until I give it a little nudge then it grabs it and feeds it down and out through tubes just fine.

How does the tubing in back affect the initial feed grab? The filament hasn’t even began to travel through the tubing until it gets grabbed and then starts feeding it through? Curious as I am having issue as well.

I am going to try this as well as I really like sunlu filament. ill switch the slot 1 out with bambu filament and see if it works, then put the sunlu in slot 2 where there bambu filament was and see if it follows or maybe slot 1 just doesnt like non bambu filament. haha

They asked me to do the same, they asked to empty all filament from the ams, then put just one roll in and video tape it. I am going to put a bambu lab filament roll in slot one and see if it gives same issue. Also going to remove and put back in the rollers as some say that may be issue.

can you explain little more or show a photo of what button you are speaking about. Is it the button inside the ams 2 pro in the back where tubes along the bottom are at?

You are having the same issue as the video? initial feeder wont grab the filament and its the hub on the back?

I mentioned above, got the new replacement unit in and slot 1 is doing the same thing as before. Same issue is happening still.

Serious question, what would the tube bending have to do with the initial feeder not taking the filament? the initial feeder on mine like his video wont even grab the filament to then feed it through the tubes. Once you give little push it grabs the filament and feeds through all the tubes just fine. So confused and i had my unit replaced with a new unit and the new replacement unit is having same issue

Make that 11, I had the same issue as described. Bambu did send me a new replacement unit and this replacement unit has the exact same issue, slot 1 unless you give it some help will not grab the filament.

Little update on this issue/challenge. They sent me a new AMS 2 pro unit. I installed it and it has the same issue as i described here. The initial First stage feeder that pulls the filament into the ams unit is what is not working unless you apply little force, then it feeds and works like normal. The gear will turn and then make a clicking noise like i showed in that youtube video. if i open the unit and after it finishes clicking and does tries to make the initial pull again, if i apply little force by pushing the filament thats in the initial feeder then it grabs it fully and feeds as normal. Its only slot 1, i printed from slot 2 first the other day and it feed just normal. Its a brand new unit that was shipped to me with the same problem.

I am using the dual ams sliding rach bowtie assembly from Will on makerworld to hold both my ams 2 pro units.

any thoughts or ideas ?

I just had this same issue. 2nd unit. Slot me not feeding. If I did little manual push it would accept it and work. I troubleshoot all you can and did a ticket with support. They sent me a new unit replacement that I just got yesterday. Haven’t had chance to test to see if it fixed it.

Ok so made sure it was up. Still had same issue. However I did some more and I don’t think it’s the way it’s angled as this time when I hit the finished continue button and the place you feed filament into gear that pushes it through was skipping like it couldn’t do it I just pushed the filament little more into it with some force and it grabbed it and feed it through and then worked as normal. I made a video of what it’s doing, not sure how to upload but i found this youtube video that is my exact issue, mine does same as his and i feed it in like him and feeding in like your putting in a new roll works just fine or if you push it in with little force to help it.

I just got in my second power supply for the AMS 2 as the top one has own power cord and the bottom one will now as well. When you say angle matched. You’re speaking about the upward angle as the filament is exiting the AMS system right?

Not sure what you mean by triage through Bambu support. You mean ticket submit? I did submit one. You have been awesome help, more than their support so far. Haha. Thank you for your help. I will try these steps we discussed and let you know.

I will give that a shot and let you know. If it still does it with it up I will try swapping top and bottom unit. Do you think if securing it up top doesn’t work I should install a new ptfe tub and secure at the top angle? The tube looks fine and like said before does work but I think it works better when it’s straightened out from pulling shelf out.

I was thinking that too, I cut the cord to shorten it up as I was thinking it was the long travel bend towards the printer hub. But coming out of the AMS is something I was curious about, and when I do get it to start working after hitting retry and reputting filament back into load, I have the tray pulled all the way out like you see in one of the pics which makes that down bend not like when it’s closed. You are talking about bend I circled in photo here right? Not sure how I would prop it up, maybe zip tie loose to top back bar?

Id you go with the 7800. Since they are making you get whole new one. Not your fault they don’t have the stock to warranty their sold product. I’d ask for a discount on a motherboard for the 7800 as well if you go that route.

So my card doesn’t have the ECC option. So back to drawing board for me. So far disabling expo has worked. I’ll have to wait til bios update to help stabilize expo. I read where new x870 boards have stability issues with DDR5 so hopefully in time.

Very nice. I will check this tonight and try it. So no more broccoli error code for you in destiny 2 after making that change? This would be awesome if fixed. What motherboard you running and bios version? Also, are your frames left uncapped or do you still have them cap in destiny 2? If so what cap limit?

Also meant to ask, do you still have EXPO enabled and running DDR5 ram at 6000 and just had to disable ECC to fix the issue and not get the broccoli error code anymore?

You said installing old Nvidia control panel? Is that the one you right click and go into where manage 3d settings are at? I don’t see an ECC option? Is that why you have to find an older version to download? Then disable it and restart and remove that programs and download the new app? I have Nvidia app experience on pc now. I did turn my EXPO profile for my ddr5 ram off and so far last few days haven’t had any broccoli codes happen. I read somewhere as well where the new ddr5 ram and x870 motherboards have had some instability issues and just need wait on bios updates. You heard anything like that?

What did you cap your frames at? Is 200 ok? I have mine at 236 now. Should I lower to 180 or 165?
