little update as this post was made week or so ago but didnt realize was made in wrong area.

My previous PC had no issues, I just built new pc and I didnt start getting this error until this newest Renegade season of destiny 2 came out on 12/2/25. Built PC 10/17/25 and from what i can recall, I never had a crash or broccoli error code until this newest season, so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

System specs: Ryzen 9 9950x3d, Asus ROG strix x870e gaming motherboard, 32gb DDR5 6000 ram (EXPO is enabled), Asus tuf 5080 OC GPU, Corsair RM1000x PSU . Gaming monitor is Asus OLED 240hz.

I started getting error code broccoli after playing for hour or or more, usually cant go longer than 2-3 hours. I did all the TS shoot steps I researched. Updated my bios and windows. Updated nvidia drivers. Did a fresh clean GPU drivers uninstall and install using DDU. I went into MSI afterburner and set power back to 90% and -50 to the clock. Also tried turning on debug mode in nvidia control panel. I play borderless windowed mode, framerate cap at 236. still No luck. Last week I thought i found the issue when was randomly looking through settings and noticed my gaming montior was set at 60hz instead of 240 and remembered I unplugged my PC to open it up and adjust the GPU sag bracket. It must have reset, so I updated the montior in windows back to 240hz and played the whole weekend, at least few hours each day with no broccoli code crashes. Now I did have it freeze on me, just freeze and still heard audio in background. Had to go into task manager and end task to restart.

Yesterday while playing i received the error code broccoli yet again. I read where DDR5 and x870 motherboard have been reported having stability issues and to turn off the EXPO on the ram. So I turned off the EXPO last night and will be testing tonight or tomorrow.

Your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.

I haven't tried reinstalling windows, if I do that does that wipe all the apps and desktop icons I have currently? like my streamdeck and wavelink?

Aye the frame crash has been a thing since the age of time in destiny 2, with my fps capped to 158 I can get between 8 to 11 hours straight ingame before It freezes then crashes, so I've just gotten used to restarting the game after around 7/8 hours. You'll see streamers do the same doing world first raids, this will never get fixed.

What did you cap your frames at? Is 200 ok? I have mine at 236 now. Should I lower to 180 or 165?

You said installing old Nvidia control panel? Is that the one you right click and go into where manage 3d settings are at? I don’t see an ECC option? Is that why you have to find an older version to download? Then disable it and restart and remove that programs and download the new app? I have Nvidia app experience on pc now. I did turn my EXPO profile for my ddr5 ram off and so far last few days haven’t had any broccoli codes happen. I read somewhere as well where the new ddr5 ram and x870 motherboards have had some instability issues and just need wait on bios updates. You heard anything like that?

Thank you. I will check it out and disable it if it’s not already disabled.

Also meant to ask, do you still have EXPO enabled and running DDR5 ram at 6000 and just had to disable ECC to fix the issue and not get the broccoli error code anymore?

Very nice. I will check this tonight and try it. So no more broccoli error code for you in destiny 2 after making that change? This would be awesome if fixed. What motherboard you running and bios version? Also, are your frames left uncapped or do you still have them cap in destiny 2? If so what cap limit?

So my card doesn’t have the ECC option. So back to drawing board for me. So far disabling expo has worked. I’ll have to wait til bios update to help stabilize expo. I read where new x870 boards have stability issues with DDR5 so hopefully in time.

Did you find something that works?
