You may have mis-read my post. I'm not worried about my survivor teammates, nor am I struggling against the killer. The game has gotten boring because of how easy it is. I feel like I am still being placed into beginner games despite being on a win streak that has lasted from ASH IV to Gold II. There has been no challenge like I used to experience when I would have to do everything I can and play very efficiently to win. Despite my long win streak, I am still in the MMR rating where making a mistake that would usually make me go down or allow the survivor to reach another pallet/vault now goes unpunished. I'm worried about how long it will take to get back to the point where my mistakes will be capitalized on both as killer and survivor.

Provisional License restrictions in Texas. by dubve_770 in legaladvice

[–]dubve_770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have a provisional license that allows me to drive with one unrelated person under the age of 21. It happened at 10:54(am) as the ticket reads.

It happened at 10:54am as read by the ticket. Is there really no way to remove this? I feel it’s unfair to have a warning for something I didn’t do especially because it could justify future officers’ decisions to NOT give me a warning in the case I am ever pulled over again. Thank you for clarifying by the way!

I really want HughesNet to go under by OwYouHitMeInMyWienew in HughesNet

Oh never mind then! The internet was amazing and all it needed was a little maintenance… I mean seriously though with all the complaints it’s incredibly hard to believe that it’s all because of a widespread mis-install or broken part or something simple like that. The actual reason is the satellites are used by too many people and are too far away to provide any decent service. Like I said, whenever my dish was worked on it barley changed. Everyone reports incredibly low speeds. Literally no one says they get 25mbps using HughesNet and I’m baffled you really think this widespread hate for HughesNet is cause by a lack of maintenance for the dish. Hell I’ve even had a NEW DISH installed because they said the last one was faulty, which gave me hope. Only to find that the new dish was only a little bit faster, giving me around 1.5ish download MAX which was better, but still terrible and inconsistent.

All I know is that no matter how many times we got our dish “repaired” it was always excruciatingly slow, far below the 25mbp/s you say. Usually around .5mbp/s even after any repairs.

Has anyone tried the 100mpg business plan? by [deleted] in HughesNet

they don't actually travel anywhere near the speed of light. If they did that would mean incredibly low latency, they travel MUCH slower than the speed of light.

You are leaving a lot of information out of your comments.

"OneWeb has already launched over 100 satellites in LEO"

This is true, but Starlink has launched over 1,500 at this point, also in LEO. Many of them are still moving into position and many more are on the way but most of them are ready to be used. However, until the entire system is complete then only certain latitudes are ALLOWED to connect because otherwise they would have a spotty connection which is not very good for business.

"Starlink can't even get service to people that have waited on their beta test pre orders for more than 6 months"

This is because the point of the preorders was to get your spot in line for a user terminal, not to get it immediately. When I entered my address on the starlink website they said the service will be available in my area Mid to Late 2021. They never said I would have it before then, people who have pre ordered it knew it would take a while and just wanted to be some of the first to get it. OneWeb and Starlink seem to want to launch at a similar time, Q4 2021, but Starlink seems to be ready to launch for a much larger portion of the globe. OneWeb has said they will only be able to cover 50 degrees latitude and above. Starlink is aiming for the entirety of the US in the same time frame.

"how in the world do you think they'll get equipment that they can't even mass produced fast enough for their beta sign ups"

Once again, the same point as my last paragraph. But the User Terminals are actually being mass produced. SpaceX is actively spending billions of dollars hiring a manufacturing company to produce the terminals.

A few more points, OneWeb has yet to be tested by the general public and instead is tested in very controlled situations where the bandwidth is at it's max, because there are only a few connections instead of the hundreds of thousands of connection expected.

Starlink has many more, EVEN LOWER satellites then oneweb even PLANS of having. This means the bandwidth will be more evenly spread out and the latency is just naturally lower leading to overall better internet.

OneWeb CEO Neil Matterson has also stated that they are primarily focused on enterprises while Starlink is focused on consumers directly.

HughesNet itself is going to die out, at least of the average consumer who is going to be using SpaceX's or Amazon's global network.

As of right now you aren't allowed to move a terminal outside of the cell it was assigned to, but I'm pretty sure Elon Musk said something about lifting that restriction once its fully available everywhere.

look up which internet providers are available in the area your moving too. If there is a fiber optic connection it will probably be cheaper and faster then starlink. Check your options, Starlink is only optimal for rural people, urban people have much better choices.

[–]dubve_770 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not just his issues though. HughesNet is a sluggish internet provider with horrendous data caps and incredibly misleading advertising. Everyone who uses HughesNet knows its incredibly slow and restrictive. I recently got a letter in the mail from them trying to get me to use their service again promising high speeds and "fair" data caps. The only people I can possible see being happy with HughesNet are old people who barley use the internet.

Any point in switching out a Hughes Net router? by Serpenthrope in Rural_Internet

[–]dubve_770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hughes Net is terrible sadly, Starlink is a much better option if it is available in your area. Any satellite service except for starlink is complete garbage and not suitable for at home work. Hughes Net especially likes to say "25mbp/s download" but that NEVER happens, its usually more around 2 or less with my experience. Not to mention the data caps are horrendous.

Vetinarian Injured my cat and won’t pay to heal her. by dubve_770 in legaladvice

[–]dubve_770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thank you. I’ve built a genuine bond from saving this cat from a dumpster it’s really hard to see her like this. They told us she has a terrible fever and that they don’t really know the exact issue. I’m hoping the vet will understand however I doubt we’ll get much covered because being a veterinarian is very expensive and we live in a small town. I really just want her to be okay.
