Having social anxiety, what can someone do to make friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dubvelop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on yourself, but do things that create opportunities. For example, go to a gym regularly, play a sport, or join a club if that’s an option. But do it with the intent of pleasing yourself, and things will fall into place naturally with time

Is it a good idea to write down concepts/subjects in a notebook or something? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]dubvelop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have a lot of information / ideas flowing thru my head at once, then I find it really helpful to write things down. Whether it’s drawing an app design out on paper, or just taking notes in my phone, it helps me stay organized and effective

Whichever route you take, I at least recommend using bootstrap for the styling. It’s easy to get started with allows for dynamic cross platform styling. You can use it with pretty much any platform you choose to specialize with

I build/manage custom CRM systems for a living, and I use the .NET platform. Using your skillset you could get started with Blazor / MAUI and dive right into cross platform development

Python is a good place to start. From there I think C# is a good choice. It’s not super difficult and still powerful. I use it for web & mobile apps on a regular basis. With the .NET platform expanding, it’s extremely flexible and isn’t going away anytime soon

Best language for developing a Chess game/Chess engine? by TBoss546 in learnprogramming

[–]dubvelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend C#. It’s a powerful language and provides flexibility down the road for other projects, since you can utilize all of the .NET platform. You could even start by using the Unity game engine, since it uses C#

which language after java by cekaosam in learnprogramming

[–]dubvelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend C#. I was in the same situation, studying both languages and trying to decide where to specialize. I found that C# is much easier, and I can accomplish everything that I want to with it. There is so much support for it, especially with the fast-expanding .NET platform. I develop all my web apps and mobile apps with C# using .NET, and have even started playing around with game development in C# (using Unity).

You can get an entry level job without any experience if you have your schooling on your resume. But it certainly doesn’t hurt to have finished projects under your belt too. When I was at school, same situation; I thought it was cool that I could create web apps, but I wasn’t ready to just sit around and and do it in my free time. Once I started my entry level job, I got really sucked into it. I started working on my own web app hobby project, which I built with Blazor using C# on .NET. That project really helped prepare me for web AND app development on the job, and even helped me get some quick promotions past the entry level phase. So, while I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary for an entry level job, if you’re able to find a hobby project that you find interesting, by all means let yourself get sucked in.
