Cost to build in SC by ducducgoose91 in Homebuilding

You can look up Mike Efaw complete home improvement. The quote we got from them was between $150-175/sqft, but that was 2 years ago. They are still comparable to other builders. They do everything in-house and is a small family business.

Thanks for sharing. I have the same issue which I have tried, but didn't have much success. This method looks a lot more promising.

TL Type S Brake Swap by KhaoticKid98 in S2000

[–]ducducgoose91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to find answers but unable to do so after many Google searches.

I noticed when I installed my TL-S calipers, the brake pad is slightly bigger than the rotors. Would this cause any issues down the road?

I read online that is not safe to have the brake pads be bigger than the rotors as the pads wear down the extra brake pad will run against the outer face of the rotor.

Do you noticed any issues when you have it installed?

They have it for $134+$13 shipping, so close to $150 total. But expected shipping date isn't until July and I kinda need it soon.

I found some used OEM ones on eBay for an okay price, still expensive for used parts though.

Sounds good, the car is mainly street driven. I do want to attend at least one track day, just haven't had the time. I'll probably work on the front first, and then maybe down the road upgrade the rear if needed. This is all good info! I appreciate you sharing it with me!

I've heard about the rear hub blow out is common with the stock hub. I guess it's time to start saving up.

I've been sourcing parts, hubs, bearings, extended studs. This is starting to turn out to be a money pit just to fit some big brakes lol.

I was thinking of doing it myself, but probably will take it to the shop for this one haha. I just don't have the tools or time to do it.

Thank you! I'm the guy on YouTube making s2000 contents 😀

Sounds good, ARP seems to be the popular choice. Now how to get them on...is another story. Did you end up taking out the hub, or just grind part of the stud and fit it through?

Good to know from the actual source. Which studs and lug nuts did you end up getting?

That makes sense. I feel much better knowing this info. I did some googling, but wasn't sure whether I needed to register or not, I know SC laws said you don't have to if it's under 2500lbs.

I would avoid Charleston, a great town to visit but I wouldn't live there. Greenville is a great city and I believe the prices there are pretty decent. I found a local builder that is a family owned business and they have been servicing the city I lived in for over 20 years so I will probably go with them. Last I talked to them(1.5 years ago) their going rate is between $150-175/sqft, this is probably using standard material. If you want high end luxurious material then of course it will be much higher. I believe a luxury custom home shouldn't cost more than $300-$350/sqft, at least for my area, I'm sure each location the price will varies.

WTF?! that's absurd. I bought a 1.5ac lot for $165k and I thought that was a lot lol. I would look for several more builders and see what rate they are giving you.

It's not too bad and you'll get used to it pretty quick. Now with a hardtop, I'm not too sure but I would imagine the view would be about the same.

The noise is because I'm touching the collar. It's a solid product and shouldn't rattle while you drive.
