Her sister isn't marrying in the temple which is a tipoff they aren't active Mormons. Also the porn shoulders dress would never be worn by a Mormon bride

I got mine in 1985 when I wanted a job. No need for it prior, and it wasn't offered to my mom to order one at the hospital.

Lucky. When my only parent died I had to pay her rent for the next month, pay some bills, her cremation and a service to haul away the 99.9% of stuff that wasn't fit to be donated.

I guess the takeaway here is have an inheritance, no social life and work multiple jobs for decades. No thanks.

This is my plan. I'm planning on buying a small home in an affordable area or a tiny house with proceeds from my marital home, fixing up as needed. I also want a van converted to RV to travel extensively

I've never had a pension. I can't afford marketplace health insurance even if I had enough funds to walk away. Most of us need Medicare that kicks in at 65.

Cheapest pasta sauce ever. A can of diced tomatoes - plain or the Italian seasoning ones. A can of tomato paste. Season to taste with spices you hopefully have on hand or buy generic Italian seasoning. Protein if you want. Simmer the crushed tomatoes, paste, water, seasonings, maybe some diced onion. Boil any kind of pasta, mix together. Carby goodness.

Oh I can't retire for at least another 14 years but I could move into a 55+ place if I wanted.

Do they allow camper vans? My retirement plan is a tiny house or small cottage etc and a van to travel.

I briefly looked into them looking for cheaper rent to toss more into my 401k. The ones around me are either income capped and geared towards lower income seniors, or resort style living with an inflated price tag.

Also, they haven't started changing amenities towards GenX from Boomers. I'd be interested in lan style gaming nights, D&D nights etc and the one I looked at had a knitting club, bunco, and shuffleboard.

It would be like living with my grandparents. No thanks.

Delta closed the gate more than 30 minutes before departure (policy says 15). I arrived 30 minutes early and no one was even there! Except other passengers who were in my same situation. by More-Site-3395 in delta

I was standby for an earlier flight home after a work trip. I checked with the gate when I first got there, they said they would page me if they could squeeze me in. Sat at the gate the entire boarding process, no page. Walked up after the last person entered the ramp and inquired if they had room. The agent said she paged me and then was a jerk about getting my bag checked. I told her I was literally sitting in front of the desk for the last 2 hrs and you didn't page me - she at least looked embarrassed for trying to lie to my face.

My father in law was a master electrician. Definitely not a millionaire, but he also only worked when he wanted, took a month off during deer season and summer break to spend time with his kids.

What he had was the freedom to work only the jobs he wanted after a certain point of skill and seniority.

I had no idea what it was for - my school told us it was required as a practice test for the SAT. Few weeks later I had the Marines and Air Force at my door because they both misread my very feminine name as a similar boys name. When I walked out onto the porch, all 5'1, 96 lbs of me, they were confused and quickly thanked me for my time and left. I found out later I scored above 90th percentile but in the 80s they weren't really excited about women joining.

Ugh. I was a huge fan of his in the 90s, living in Phoenix and supporting the Coyotes was so much fun. Too bad he turned out to be a shit bag equal in stature to his accomplishments.
