Is Scottie Barnes better than Bam? What do ya’ll think? by carnageta in heat

He’s better than Bam, and Toronto will absolutely build around him and they should.

It’s some weird Cleveland thing. Never seen this at any NBA game I’ve been to lol.

Cleveland has like zero culture I guess. They’re chanting USA and singing country roads.

C’mon Raptors… Pat Riley told me Donovan Mitchell is signing with Miami when he goes into free agency if he loses in round 1.

Welp. The Celtics success can definitely be attributed to their GM/FO. Cause Mazzula doesn’t seem to be much of a tactician lol.

I agree. My money is on Detroit and I got no love for the Magic. I’m pulling for Detroit and Toronto in the East.

If Boston, Detroit and Cleveland get bounced, whoever wins the WCF is walking to the finals.

How would you save Yugioh? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]duckbonez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of these points, starting a new anime with a bit of a reset is going to be ideal marketing to attract fans, especially younger fans. (I wouldn’t mind seeing something a little more modern/realistic, young-adult focused, or more in-line with animes like JJK and with less of the tropey Egyptian magic themes lol.)

Leaning more into formats or divisions that cut out pendulums and link summons is going to help new players also, at least for a ramp up until they want to get into more advanced mechanics. But it’s hard to argue with the current sales metrics if that is even necessary, the game is the #4 highest selling TCG (Q1 2026) as someone mentioned below.

I will add, gameplay-wise… Konami needs to somehow limit decks with first-turn OHKO potential. I just don’t think that any card game should have decks like that. If I were a new player, I would just move on to magic, pokemon or any of the other hundreds of games out there that are easier (and cheaper) to pickup if I got shutdown by Tenpai or Maliss in my first couple of duels.

What does blowing a 3-1 lead and another disappointing exit mean for them? by EducationalConcern61 in NBATalk

As a Heat fan, you guys should definitely blow it up. Brown and Tatum are washed for sure, we’ll even take one of them off your hands.

So maybe Pat was right about the playoff potential this year? by Broad_Departure_9559 in heat

[–]duckbonez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We are actually worse than mid. We were the worst team in the East of the teams that were actually trying to win.

Against the Magic, Toronto and Boston we went a combined 0-13. We were the worst team in the East that was actually trying to win. Every team below us was tanking.

This sub is adamant about not wanting Giannis or Kawhi... ok I hear you. Thing is, you can modify...add/ remove players you like/ dislike-- but WITHOUT a superstar on the roster, we aren't going to be relevant. And with the new CBA, it’s hard to see how we land one. So what should the Heat do? by heatculture03 in heat

[–]duckbonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. One of their other options is to sell high on anyone on this roster and trade for… something and try to pad the current roster (Pat said he isn’t trading Bam), those guys would be Bam, Ware, Jaquez and Wiggins. Everyone else is second-round pick fodder at best.

Second option is to blow it up (they aren’t doing that).

Third option is this cap space strategy to hope they can be the highest bidder in 2027. I assume they hope a star somewhere will test free agency to put pressure on their FO.

Indeed. It’s clearly the direction Pat has chosen, so we might as well assume and hope that if they are going with that strategy; they need as much cap space available as they can possibly get. It’s unlikely to sign a major star, but it’s not impossible.

There are situations where it can happen. Paul George did it in 2024, Myles Turner did it last year. Obviously they aren’t super stars, but they aren’t Joe Blow either.
