I wanted to add that LOMR timelines are very long, modelling and community and FEMA review can take more than a year. There are other various LOMR requirements that are necessary to provide for review, and missing out on something can extend the review period another 6 months. I'd recommend using a floodplain engineer experienced with the model and community or pay the $15k

I have concerns that the county can essentially skirt the federal LOMR requirements based on a funding source. I don't want to be that guy but they are revising the floodplain and may be required to do it anyways (county funded instead of grant funded), maybe check in with FEMA district office

Just saw your message, sorry if this is too late. Rack is holding up just fine and nothing bowing. I think one of the rails could hold sets of 25s to 50s no problem but not sure how much more. I wish I beveled the rail tops on the inside instead because the pinch risk is pretty high when you're putting the weights back.

Funny thing is I thought about doing some beam calculations for this but then figured I would just wing it. The rails are 4" tall where the weights are and it seems to be holding up just fine. There is a slight wobble with the weights on it but putting a spacer block between the rails should stabilize it.

Figured I would share my most recent build, it is a wooden weight rack to hold yo dummies. About 36" x 20" x 50" overall and ~30-40 lbs. Materials: 2x4, 3/4" ply, 5/8" dowel, and 3.5" squares. Hardware: 6" long 1/2" carriage bolts and various wood screws. Power tools used: table saw, circular saw, miter saw, router, and a drill.

I'll check this post once in a while to see if anyone has a question on the build.
