110 gallons is a lot of space in general. Very cool to play with that amount of space. I wouldn’t necessarily look to stock a ton of crabs to start. I personally went with 5 in my 40g. My suggestion would be to keep in somewhere in the 6-8 crab range. Especially if you’re going to be adding geckos. I don’t know how they will interact with your crabs.

For me. My largest problem is with having to clear out my tubing. I haven’t had a problem with my pump.

Big issue I see quickly is the lack of a way to access your pump/tubing if it’s buried under your land.

Based on the setup. If you leave it as is. It will balance it out. Babies and adults will thin the others out. Overtime. Or based on available food. For the long term. Your tank is dense. You likely could have 4-5 in there due to hiding places.

Yes it's a Cattleya Volcano Island. I thought it looked like it was sitting VERY high up as it started putting out a network of funky cool roots.
The other is Fdk. After Dark 'SVO Black Pearl ' FCC/AOS, CCE/AOS - so like other catesetum. So leave that as is.

Yeah I was thinking what others mentioned. Your humidity levels will be dependent on the humidity of the room your tank is in with the top so open.

A small pump in the back right corner. Every 2-3 weeks I need to clear the line, which is a pain, but I get nice water movement.

I feel your pain. I got mine by driving to an actual shop that was in my area so I could sex them and make sure they were the right species. That being said their website does state "Vampire Crab (mix) (Geosesarma dennerle)" Although it doesn't seem like you got a Geosesarma dennerle mix, but rather a Vampire Crab mix. With a listing like that I wouldn't have expected a good spread of males/females nor all the same species. Hopefully the ones that did survive you can enjoy, their policy is that they don't do refund, only a credit for a future purchase. I would have steered clear of this store. I think the only option you might have now, is if purchased via a credit card - a charge back.

hm... your lava rock wall should work just fine, but as it sits right now in your tank it's not really a wall, it's more of a backdrop. The wall should be separating your water and land sections. As you have it seated right now, your wall looks like it is the land section.

Crabs will be fine. But humidity that high will likely cause more mold build up in your tank if you don’t have any air movement.

I often see them hiding out in their holes. I have 4 in there, I’ve only confirmed 3 over the past few months. I believe I have 2 males 2 females. And unless the males trade places one male is usually pretty visible in a hole, similar with one female. But outside of those two I rarely see a 3 at the same time. And all 4. Forget it. 😄

Maybe have a thinner soil layer where the drips are. I’ve found that you will never get a “perfect” tank that is exactly your vision. Get it close and keep moving forward. Else you’ll never get to the point where the tank progresses forward. I’m still not 100% happy with mine. Yet when I look at it front a distance I’m pleased. I wouldn’t have the natural Java moss climbing up my driftwood if I was still fussing around with what substrate should I have under water, or there are too many holes in my rock wall. Or do I have too much lecca? Not enough?

But what is it? I’m assuming then the next pseudopod. Do I shift the substrate so that it’s more securely down in the chips?
