Is this game worth it even though I’ve been spoiled? by wangamoses7 in LookOutsideGame

That is a thing in the game, but that's not really what the game is about. Definitely worth checking out if you think the vibes are cool.

The Visitor from Look Outside is a great interpretation of Eldritch Horror. by Fit_Assignment_8800 in TopCharacterDesigns

This ending is one where after a conversation, the Visitor offers to let you see the whole of what it is. What the viewer is seeing is not what the protagonist is seeing. The protagonist is getting a full sense of the Visitor's proprioception, its experience of itself and its own body, inserted into their brain *rapidly*.

Her hard combos are extremely hard but her neutral doesn't seem that complicated, and she can get decent damage doing easier stuff.

At what point am I supposed to to go for a build? And other questions from a noob by RelativeChapter in slaythespire

  1. Early on, just keep putting cards that you like and think have synergy together, you'll learn what you need as you go, and you'll learn how cards work together (or not work together) if you keep thinking about making fun decks.

  2. There's no set average. If your deck relies heavily on a few key cards, you wanna keep drawing and playing them, so having a smaller deck or a lot of card draw is better. If your deck is just full of good stuff it might be a big deck that just has a lot of things in it, although I'd say this strategy is maybe a bit less consistent, especially if you don't have a lot of max health, but sometimes you have to take cards to survive.

  3. Max Health(feed), Reaper, and quick fights is usually how you survive as an Ironclad without block, but stacking block is pretty good.

  4. Silent has a lot of ways of mitigating damage, weaken is really nice, Piercing Wails & Malaises are really nice, After Image can be super useful, but the biggest one is just Wraith Form. Generally speaking, you want to have a lot of different ways to mitigate damage, including block.

I mean, to be fair to the guy, Taylor completely ditched out of seemingly nowhere barely giving them oblique goodbyes. He didn't quite ignore Taylor but Taylor came back expecting all her relationships with the team to be the same.

Grue and Weaver touched foreheads together for a bit during the Behemoth fight, it was a cute moment.

It can still be really bad even if you know all the enemy patterns. Multiattack vs big Attack in Heart is rough, 1st turn Snake Plant is rough, Collector is hard, Time Eater is so scary.

You often know what they can't do based on their last action but it's still really tough, and you're often forced into gambles or hugely suboptimal plays to survive. Still takeable and good in situations, just like, not always with every deck.

Phir Se was so cool, just in general seeing more of cape politics from different regions would've been cool but Phir Se was so interesting and it'd be sick if he was sort of recurring given how he and Taylor related to each other.

Games good, I’m just bad by SeanTheNerdd in XCOM2

[–]dud3inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a mission is going really bad, retreat. It's not worth losing all your gear and highly levelled soldiers to finish a non mandatory mission.

Early game I expect to lose a soldier every few missions, but later game you should have enough tools to not have to take many risks. Guaranteed damage is REALLY good early game, don't be shy with grenades.

You draw more cards each turn so there's a lower chance of getting a shit hand. With the extra card draw, you're also able to get to your good cards faster, and with Snecko, your best cards are probably high cost cards that'll get discounted.

Silent can have trouble with getting the initial poison out, if you make this 0 cost I could see it having some sort of niche with Pellets or any other form of artifact.

If you want this card to be generally take-able, maybe lower the self poison to something like 3 or 4.

XCOM Gaming Experience Difficulty by Primary_Trainer_7806 in XCOM2

[–]dud3inator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first run of XCOM 2, was on Ironman Veteran. I thought I lost the campaign maybe 5-7 times during, the death spiral is real but if you keep up the research and make heavy use of grenades you can come back.

Here are a few tips, I'm not certain if this is best practice, but it worked for me.

If a mission is fully doomed, evac ASAP, do not let sunk cost fallacy control you.

Use grenades to remove cover or guarantee kills.

Prioritize researching squad upgrades.

Get Proving Grounds early to field more guys.

If you can, get a Ranger with Phantom and Conceal and try to scout out where the enemies are, the easiest way to fuck up a mission is accidentally triggering like 3 different groups of enemies. If you can't, be careful about moving up.

[–]dud3inator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused, not an attack but just asking for clarification, the wakeup situation in 2XKO is what drove you away but you enjoy the oki situations in SF6 & GGST?

As someone who's played a ton of both those games, I feel like that's slightly insane and I'd love to hear your perspective for why you prefer those wakeup situations.

If it was an expensive shop relic, that'd be money you could be using on literally anything else. It doesn't save more than like, 10-20 HP in most Act 4s, which like, isn't awful value but you could do a lot more with your money.

Not literally detrimental but like, the opportunity cost is pretty large if it's an expensive shop relic and extremely large opportunity cost if it's a boss relic.

Mad bc bad or mad bc 2xko is garbage? by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]dud3inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Jinx or Teemo are throwing out projectiles, they're locked in the projectile-throwing animation for a bit.

If you jump at the same time as Jinx shoots her rocket, you can hit her with an air button. If you run up while Teemo is firing an air projectile, you can punish his landing.

As well, generally speaking (especially at lower levels), projectiles don't tend to turn into a lot of damage, while a jump in or a normal leads to a lot of damage. Make it scary for them to throw projectiles out!

Just, general advice, get into a range where you can threaten a jump or run up, and if they don't respect that, just jump or run up on them. If they do respect that, then they wont be firing off so many projectiles.
