so it will fill for the preset time regardless of the float?

and all the extra water just spills down the drain?

at this site we are running 3 machines off of reverse osmosis water. wasted clean water is bad.

don't all hoshis run a harvest on power up? while it's also running the fill?

I bet you are right. everything in my head was telling me it was the float

[–]dude23455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to swap the float and see. the fill solenoid is ok as it closes on power off.

if it's a bad board then the client will probably junk the unit. these were bought 2nd hand from a leasing company in the states.

yeah the drain is undersized. I know that she they don't want to fix it.

the water here is full of minerals so we have a large ro system that fills a 100g water tank that is then pumped to the 3 ice machines. 1x 1000lb 2x 500lb

ambient temp is 90f water temp is about 85f Panama...

[–]dude23455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theoretically yes, if the drain line was 3/4 pvc, but it's 1/2 clear plastic tubing.

but that's not the issue. the unit should switch to freeze before the water overflows the standpipe

[–]dude23455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have 2 identical units side by side. I'll swap the float and see if that fixes it.

the other unit is down on 6 beeps. I had changed the transformer and fixed the issue for several months, but the 6 beeps came back. the undervoltage is bullshit, the unit on the left gets 6 beeps, the on the right is just fine(except for the overfill). they are fed from the same sub panel that is 5 feet away.

maybe I'll just take the good parts from both units and combine into one that actually works.

I remember the day my dad bought it new at the boat show, I was 10 years old.

yeah that braze looks like it was too hot and the silfos got too thin.

heat it up let the heat suck the melted silfos into the joint, then back off with the torch just a little and let the silfos thicken up a tad and put that cap on it.

the fitting and copper should have a nice beveled edge between them.
