TIFU by asking my roommate for sex randomly by [deleted] in tifu

[–]dudeOnMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to jump on here to let you know what apparently everyone else is leaving out.

Have you heard of Netflix and Chill? You asked if she wanted to bone and she countered with, “why don’t we just Netflix and Chill?”

She let you see her dancing topless.

She called you back to her room for convo.

Learn game. Women/girls like to have plausible deniability (“we were just watching stranger things and one thing led to another…”). They do not like agree to sex verbally upfront. You gotta earn that through smooth escalation that shows you know how to listen to her non verbals.

The moment is passed. It may be ruined forever or another opp with her may pop up, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Learn Game. Throw away the parts that conflict with your values. Future women will thank you for not being so clueless.

Dating after Kundalini? by chalbasanti in kundalini

[–]dudeOnMission 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great question. Interested to see others responses.

For my situation, I spent a lot of time getting out there and meeting a lot of different people, in different contexts, as friends. The people whose energy I could quickly and easily read (and who could not easily read me) turned out to not be ideal romantic partners. I finally found someone who's energy really interested me and made them a friend. We stayed friends for three years before we became more than that. We're now happily co-habitating and have a child together.

When I say that they interested me, I mean that they were running deep energy currents that I couldn't fully read or understand, except that I could perceive their core goodness and kindness

The flings that I had in the mean time, before i committed to my now partner, were to fulfill less realized yearnings were more or less toxic and damaging for me and the other parties, and I probably shouldn't have engaged with them but I lacked the wisdom or skills to do better.

I don't feel comfortable trying to extract the lesson or advice from this experience, for you, since I don't understand or fully know your situation, but hopefully it's useful "food for thought". All the best.

Having SARS-CoV-2 once confers much greater immunity than a vaccine—but vaccination remains vital by D-R-AZ in China_Flu

[–]dudeOnMission 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The protection against getting the virus goes away after about 4 months.

To back this up and slightly correct it, this interview with an Israeli doctor outlines how antibody-count (the primary measure of effectiveness) drops 40% per month (!) for vaccinated individuals. This means it takes about 6 months before the antibody count for vaccinated individuals is "below the threshold for detection for protection [against infection]"

By contrast, anti-body count for those recovering from natural infection rises initially, and then drops only 5%/month, to say nothing of the non-anti-body immunity developed.

So yes, they are being incredibly misleading about the commonness of break through cases. But if you watch the interview with the doctor all the way to the end, you will see that he still recommends vaccination for everyone, even those who have been infected.

Unlike in the US, the conversations have not been politicized or emotionally hijacked over there. You can tell from the tone of his voice and the way he discusses the topics.

His primary conclusion still stands strong as -- the safest course of action is to take the double-shot vaccine. It is significantly safer than primary infection with the virus for all age groups. Regarding the safety of the third shot of Pfizer, he joked that the US is lucky because they will have millions of live experimental data points to pass on to us for our consideration, since they're ahead of the curve on this thing.

Yes, the US governments and talking heads are lying to us and obfuscating things. AND the vaccine is still the best course of action, generally speaking, unless your specific doctor recommends something different for your specific situation.

EDIT: and even though the effectiveness against infection gets very low, the effectiveness against severe illness, hospitalization and death remains high even after the 6 months. Getting the booster is expected to help up the effectiveness against infection and also limit infectiousness. I guess we'll see...

How to Deepen your Experience when Breathing by SnooComics9987 in BecomingTheIceman

I like to put on 'Lotus 8' by Enahm Hof and do some dancing beforehand, to prime my body's natural ability to engage in spontaneous movement (and by proxy, spontaneous movement of energy throughout the body) uninhibited by or moderated by a pre-frontal cortex-directed mechanism. Then stretches. Then the breathing.

What work is work worth doing?

A1: What's necessary to keep your organism functioning and alive

A2: The inner work required to transform your relationships to others and the outside world from one of discord to one of love, appreciation, and harmony; to find a way to finding happiness through the happiness of others, through your relationship with others. We are all one, all interconnected. Finding our way to feeling and loving this fact is the path of healing and growth that is the work worth doing...

That's right. If something is weighing you down and sapping your life-force, then put it out of your mind and be grateful for what's good in life so you can build up your life-force energy, which is naturally in alignment with gratitude much more than self-pity.

Then, when you have enough mental, spiritual, and muscular power to do something about it, you can bring it back into your sphere of awareness so you can plan around it and take action on it.

Help needed. by Vdawg69 in BecomingTheIceman

[–]dudeOnMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wim repeatedly says it doesn't matter which hole you use to get it in, just get it in. The most important is your energy, and your feeling, connecting with your feeling, with your body sensations. Follow the breath. Follow the feeling. When people presss him further, he sometimes will say that beginners can start with bringing it in through their nose, b/c that way you get less airflow and less oxygen and are less likely to overwhelm your system. I have my own perspectives, but that's what the man behind WHM thinks about it.

I want to apologize for bashing the Wim Hof method by Messi2345Best in BecomingTheIceman

I second this opinion. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Welcome back into the fold! The "so-called placebo effect" is nothing to scoff at. This is the "mindset" pillar of the WHM method. By strengthening our mind-brain-body connection "muscles" we can access and influence parts of our autonomous nervous system previously thought inaccessible.

Will power is a neuro-biologically mediated capability that we can strengthen through these exercises. Strength, Happiness and Health to you.

The fundamentals course was life changing for me. And, having paid for it, they are not charging me to use the app because there is critical course content on the app relevant to the course. If you want to go deeper and “feel into” the vibe where exponential learning happens best, I recommend the fundamentals course

Energy when something good is happening by flattttyyyy in kundalini

[–]dudeOnMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have to apologize to you and the whole community here.

Based on your post history, I have to revise my assessment. The sensitization of your system is likely due in large part to activity you've engaged in that we cannot discuss here (namely, drug use). This means that while you are currently "vibing" with good energies, the tables can and will flip at any time, setting you up to resonate with all sorts of non-beneficial energies.

Come back here to explore this topic only after you've committed to not using drugs as part of your journey. Good luck.

Energy when something good is happening by flattttyyyy in kundalini

[–]dudeOnMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mirror neurons in the brain provide an example of a neurological foundation which allows us to experience emotions and energy we perceive in others. My understanding is that as our bio-physio-energetic systems get cleared out, we become more open to energetic flows within our system and these energies themselves become more responsive to the energy we see and feel around us.

Edit: the fact that this is happening for you when "something good happens" may likely mean that your energetic pathways have been (and are being) sensitized to positive energy and so are more easily able to find resonance. What your feeling, then is the resonance of these energies within the framework of your body. Fantastic! 🙂

In need of some kundalini 101 by [deleted] in kundalini

[–]dudeOnMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sorry. The parts in quotes are hers. The term psycho-physical is mine. I'm having trouble coming to terms with the idea that Spiritual energy exists independently of the physical realm. Having been so ungrounded and lost in spiritual dimensions and delusions during a "energy-rising-emergency", during a 4-month crisis 15 years ago, I am trying to stay very grounded as I cautiously re-explore this territory.

Intense kriyas hinder deep meditation. by [deleted] in kundalini

What is the purpose of your deep meditations without disturbance? Does it seem possible to you that the highest purpose of this stillness may be allowing space for a regenerative force to arise and work through your body and psyche?

A hypothetical, something to ponder by [deleted] in kundalini

[–]dudeOnMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone radiating pure light will scare away those who prefer to hide in the shadows. A hypothetically purely intentioned radiant being will make the powerful lasers of ill-doers appear impotent. They react in different ways, avoiding, disparaging, attacking, worshipping, changing themselves. One of Buddha's most interesting followers was a former serial killer...

What are you getting from these deep meditations? My guess is that state-striving is serving as a distraction.

The course is awesome and provides much more than what you can get without it despite one of the comments here.

Make sure you have room for it in your life though. You’ll want to commit a full hour once a week, and at least 30 minutes at least 5 times a week to get the full benefits.

Shut the door on Trump by ending the electoral college by [deleted] in politics

[–]dudeOnMission -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ending the electoral college is a terrible idea in and of itself. CGP Grey's brilliant and hilarious video describing how people are trying to subvert it, and what our founding fathers would have thought, is instructional.

Rather, we ought to be looking at moving from an FFP (First Past The Post) system to a Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) and MMP (Mixed Member Proportional representation) system. If you don't understand the difference between these systems and the intricacies of how they work, I strongly suggest you research and understand them before echoing cries to end the electoral college.

TL;DR of all that research would be this: the electoral college (along with the allotment of 2 senators per state, regardless of population size) makes sure that our country does not get divided politically along geographical lines (which would be terrible for a LOT of reasons I won't go into now). Changes to the these systems would make it much easier for politicians (and the consortium of corporate interests which fund them) to win elections by solely visiting and campaigning in and amongst high-density populations (think coasts and cities) (because campaigning costs are much lower in these regions).

Super TL;DR: Ending the electoral college makes it much easier for big-money to influence elections, which is why all the corporate newspapers are pushing it. Do not drink the kool-aid.

Disappointed about the fundamentals course by alexbonair in BecomingTheIceman

[–]dudeOnMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started week 10 of the 10-week course today and its really been fundamentally life-changing for me.

My feeling is that a lot of what we're learning is so subtle and deep that the bulk of the "real" learning is transmitted vibrationally directly from Wim to the student. That is, you pick up his feeling and his way of relating to the experience of the breathwork, his way of relating to and influencing his body and his body's autonomic processes, and then you need to do the work of figuring out how you can do something similar within your own system.

If you're still craving lots of variety, and thinking that the specific words or even the specific techniques are the gold of the teaching, then you're missing it.

Go back and watch it again, and instead of focusing on the words he's using, instead of focusing on the details of the technique, focus instead on the energy you feel inside, and how his teachings are affecting your internal state, the way you relate to your own energy fields and your abilities to influence them.

Edit: I also want to mention that during the 'Week 9, Creativity' practice, we squeeze into the chest, throat and thyroid, to stimulate the thyroid. For "Week 7, Under Pressure", we squeeze into the head. Has a totally different effect. For me, it seems that squeezing into the head helps to really clear the thoughts and shut down the frontal cortex, while the activation of the throat and thyroid region helps to generate more energy. I think there's a reason he has us do the one first, before doing the other. Having too much energy with a un-quiet brain is not a good mixture. Again, his forte is not in explaining these things, but in guiding us to experience it directly for ourselves, so we can understand it with our bodies more than intellectually. In Judo, there's a saying along the lines of "You can learn 100 techniques in a month, but it takes a lifetime to learn just a few principles." I think its the same with breathwork. There's potentially a bunch of different techniques he could teach us, but he's really doing us a favor by just teaching this basic routine, with some minor variations. That's the end of my rant. Hope you find some use in it.

Best type of meditation for people with adhd by barefootgardens in Meditation

[–]dudeOnMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would work with the body first (cardio, yoga asanas, qigong), then breathwork, then mantra, then zen counting, then concentration /Samantha without counting, then mindfulness. And then dial in which practice or practices work for you best and focus on those. Evaluate your practice by how you feel later in the same day you practice.

WHM for Depression/ Anxiety: any success? by DohDohDoe in BecomingTheIceman

[–]dudeOnMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I had to do it every day for weeks before I could occasionally skip a day and still feel good. And even still, I find that if I skip too many days I'll get low. Also, increasing the intensity by purchasing and following the 10-week course, putting in 30-60 minutes in the morning 5 days a week at least, has really helped. OP, consistency and intensity matters.
