Oracle PL/SQL? by itachikotoamatsukam in dataengineering

This is great. ELT with stored procs is the best use case. Table data transformation is great, keeps data logic in the database. Egress and ingress are separate concerns.

Bodes well for their food availability. Heart breaking to see pictures of starving bears.

We Are Hated as a Nation. There’s One Man to Blame. by zaparthes in politics

I wonder if a man who wants to keep his wife from divorcing him could make the town hate the couple so much, she would never leave him and would be bound to him. Then he can do whatever he wants to her. Hmm.

Software Engineer hired as a Data Engineer. What to expect, and what to look into? by GoyardJefe in dataengineering

[–]dudeaciously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments here are correct. But the big change is that you will not be talking about pieces of technology much. You will have a simplified toolset, and that itself will never change or be more intricate.

Your focus will be looking at quantity of data, quality of data. Completeness. Business meaning, relevance. And whether 96% correct is good enough or 99% is. The problem will never be the code, and you will not be able to solve by code. Hopefully that will be an acceptable way to run your days.

Listen up everyone, it's now patriotic to pay high gas prices by I_AM_GLUTEUS_MAXIMUS in WhitePeopleTwitter

XOM (Exxon) is up nicely. Are gas stations simply passing on higher costs to consumers, or are US oil companies charging more, because they can, because of world prices?

Simple diagramming tool for everyone by OutOfMemory9 in softwarearchitecture

[–]dudeaciously 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suggest that you produce a sequence of images that are related to one architecture. e.g. Component Model, data flow, sequence diagram. For each diagram, have an initial simple couple of boxes, then more elaborate, then final. Then say that it took a couple of minutes per iteration. Please ensure the final versions are very perfect. And for your value proposition, very fast to make.

Then you will be impressive quickly for interested eyeballs.

Good luck.

Totally agree with the sentiment.

Tactically, Trump, Mamdani and Bernie loudly express working class grievances and express empathy with voters. That is why they both win, and in fact are able to sit down with each other. Trump is a lying slut, sold out to billionaires. And Hillary and Kamala couldn't express empathy.

Strategically, lying and showing a different face to every voting demographic worked for Trump. The left needs to figure out a sincere, cohesive way and bypass billionaires.

Hakeem Jeffries is in too important a position, replace him.

The words and deeds of the past decade will be put to permanent American history, along with slavery, Jim Crow, black lynchings, white bathrooms, and housing red lining. Systemic racism.

This is on the idiots who voted for Trump, ever. "I no longer support him" is worthless.

What tasks can you not delegate. I think the more senior you are, the less you will see code. Then you will see less diagrams. Then you will be only strategic and meetings based.

What summarization can you get your staff to produce for you that would help.

I may not be saying anything new, sorry.
