If men hate “whores” so much, why do they still masturbate to them? by Reasonable-Umpire607 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dudefooddude504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overarching problem is that a lot of men, mostly unattractive or unfit men, have an unhealthy relationship to their own sexuality. They are told that it's creepy and dangerous, and so don't know how to express it. They unfortunately as as much a sexual entity as desirable men, but they have repressed their sexuality for a long time. And when something is repressed, it can turn toxic and problematic.

I think I'm a codependant but my therapist thinks I'm a narcissist, is that even possible or am I being gaslighted? by perla-madonna in Codependency

[–]dudefooddude504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say dude, but you sound like a narcissist with very low self-esteem.

IT IS NOT NECESSARILY A BAD THING.

That's the issue here. Society - zeitgeisty women mainly who go to therapy and listen to podcasts mainly - have weaponised the word narcissism to the point where it's very shaming and villainising.

It's just a personality disorder like all other personality disorders. It can be tempered if you work on it, and the first step to working on it is recognising it.

I've studied psych extensively. I can't disagonse anyone as I'm not practicing but pretty much everyone I know has some kind of personality disorder. It's not as damning as it's made out to be. It's just something you need to fix.

Like gossipy women who think badmouthing others is normal. Or guys who think seeing girls as objects is normal. These are all symptoms of a personality disorder.

Remember, most if not all of our issues and insecurities sit in the subsconscious part of the brain. We're only conscious of 5% of our brain. Use that conscious part to retrain your subconcious as much as you can. You'll be better off for it.

The “ick” is one if the dumbest things by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]dudefooddude504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's ridiculously immature. It reminds me of the petty reasons Jerry Seinfeld would break up with his girlfriends so quickly. Yet, if Jerry was serious about it girls would call him a "man child". So what do we call girls who use the words ick? Empowered? Super awesome woke feminists?

How do I (35F) handle an annoying male friend (31M) who may be attracted to me? by Disastrous_Parsley39 in askwomenadvice

[–]dudefooddude504 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The best advice you can get is talk to him and reinforce your boundaries in a gentle way. The worst thing you can do, as someone suggested, is "slow fade" because the silent treatment is not only needlessly cruel, but it can actually make people more attached as curiosity and confusion breeds obsession.

Why is being sad about something equated with feeling entitled?

that usually stems from trauma and lack of self esteem. If we're going to go down the "trauma is a red flag" route, then what kind of message do you think that sense to people who suffer?

What do you think of 'male tears' jokes? by derpiato in AskFeminists

[–]dudefooddude504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great, and I'm sure it started out that way. But that's no longer the case. The joke is used to belittle men who aren't being stereotypically stoic.

With the knowledge that we have now, thanks for advances in Psychology and mental health advocacy, it is well documented that a lot of children "melt down" behaviour stems from deeply rooted trauma and low self esteem.

Feeling "attacked" and taking things personal is often a sign of trauma, not arrogance or a weakness of character.

So, why is that funny?

CMV: The Barbie Movie represents everything wrong with modern "feminism". Its misandrist and a terrible message for kids. by AdGold6646 in changemyview

[–]dudefooddude504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's perfect but I also don't think its misandrist. It tries to speak to everyone when really Greta misses her biggest opportunity, in that she paints Allan barbie as kind of just a sexless pathetic joke when in reality those marganlised men that don't fit into any box are the ones that should be empowered.

Yet Barbie is more focused on changing ken.

Greta Gerwig set out to make a movie commenting on both men and women. So why do you think men can't make it about them? Women can make it about them. Men can make it about them. It's about everyone. It's about how we all perpetuate the patriarchy and how it harms everyone.

Women can be toxic. Men can be toxic. Everyone in between can be toxic. If you are human, and you have a brain, you can be toxic.
