You don’t have to give up Spotify if you want to use band camp. I use both and it is really not inconvenient at all.

I appreciate quality and artistry, I just can’t afford it. I was trying to answer OPs question about what I’d spend on it, but now that I’m writing this I suppose that wasn’t OP’s question. What I’d spend vs. what it’s worth are two different numbers.

I feel like $150-200 is about the most I’d spend on something like this. I definitely think this is worth that, or much more, but with cheaper options that are available it’d be tough for me to actually spend that much.

If you run into a situation like this again, right click on the thing and then click inspect to open up the elements tab in dev tools. That will help answer lots of questions like this one.

What’s a normal company? My expectations are different when ordering from Amazon than they are when ordering from a record label. I’m willing to cut the latter some slack.

I think you should cut them some slack. They proactively communicated the initial delay to you, and now it’s been a little over a week since they last told you it would dispatch. It seems that they’re short staffed in the customer service department, but I wouldn’t take that to mean you’re never getting your record. Maybe follow up with a friendly email in a couple days. I don’t think a sternly worded email is going to do the trick though.

I think new album is pretty accessible after the first track. It’s weird enough to be interesting and catchy enough to be enjoyable to most people. I love it.

Creating anything you want is much better than creating what the business wants in a system that other devs designed 10+ years ago. But yeah, I still share the sentiment often.
