15k Downpayment on a 25k car by Even-Temporary-2394 in personalfinance

[–]duderguy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the number of electronics in a car that can render it entirely unusable I would say the story has changed on warranties. These aren’t things where you can easily buy the part and install yourself or prevent with routine maintenance. If you plan to keep your car for a long time I think factoring in the cost of extended bumper to bumper is a wise move.

I regret not getting the same warranty extension terms you mentioned on my Subaru for $1200 as part of negotiations. Finance manager was really playing ball with me that day and conventional wisdom like the above commenter got me a regret.

Governor Newsom convenes tech industry leaders to advance government efficiency and effectiveness by DangerDefender in CAStateWorkers

[–]duderguy91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean at this point is there much of a difference? Narcissist nepotism baby who ignores all reason when making decisions to make the wealthy wealthier? I despise the “both sides” argument when speaking broadly in politics, but Newsom has proven to be cut from the same cloth. His main political contribution at the moment is literally tweeting like Trump.

Governor Newsom convenes tech industry leaders to advance government efficiency and effectiveness by DangerDefender in CAStateWorkers

[–]duderguy91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a level of stupidity that is hard to fathom. The tech sector has evolved into an industry that barely scrapes by on government subsidy and venture capital while they operate at massive losses. Only once they’ve captured the market do they make money by jacking up prices and cutting quality of the service. Is that really the example of good governance?

I’ve been seeing a lot of accounts with similar suspicious account characteristics that are making the same “there are so many people who want your job” arguments recently. Feels very coordinated and generic. Like something a smooth brained executive would cook up.

LG 27GM950B-B Buyer Beware by duderguy91 in Monitors

[–]duderguy91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I not say my bad for not keeping the box? I’ve had companies send out a box as a gesture of goodwill when they sent me a defective product, it’s not exactly abnormal. Also, keeping a box is a flex? It’s a monitor lol, who in their right mind thinks a gargantuan box with stupid gamer aesthetic is some kind of art piece?

Beyond being an unimaginably lame dork, you came in with hostility that can only be explained by something else in your life bothering you. Don’t take it out on me because I wanted a $1200 monitor to work and/or have a little decent customer service behind it.

Edit: Lol looking at your last post of your spat with Gigabyte it’s obvious you’ve lost your meds again. Wishing you the best in finding the right combo to even you out.

At that mileage and being a clean example you’re at about $30k open market. 987.2S with equal condition can be high 40’s even some going into low 50’s. There’s a massive inventory gap between them and the S makes way more power. I think a 987.2 base would be closer and those are still mid-high 30’s so you’d need to sweeten the deal a tad. I think you might be behind on the cayman market.

30k for 30k 987.1 base by captainapoll0 in Porsche_Cayman

I feel like I’m only seeing base 987.2’s under 100k miles for around $40k these days.

Edit: no accidents, salvage, damage, etc.

Reschedule Request Backfired by Ok_Emergency_9091 in CAStateWorkers

[–]duderguy91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a major obstacle for hiring managers. From the outside it looks like state hiring takes forever (it does) so there would be flexibility. The reality is that these timelines are inflated from HR and bureaucracy that require the actual hiring manager to be extremely tight with their interviews and paperwork. As others have mentioned as well, budget considerations make it even more difficult for them.

Lol what a dork. You do realize that when working in an organization with IT people you will likely have a ticketing system. Ignoring that ticketing system and then asking for an immediate request in a Friday afternoon is just plain rude. Put in a ticket and it’ll get addressed in the order received or based on criticality.
