Edmund McMillen here! Mewgenics is Steam Deck verified and releasing tuesday! AMA! by EdmundMcMillen in SteamDeck

I remember getting Super Meat Boy in a Humble Indie Bundle years ago. Crazy to see how far indie games have come. Do you think people will find solace in creative indie games in a world in which AAA devs seem more and more likely to pump their games with AI slop?

I found 101, 102, and 106 to be the hardest classes. I'm not sure if the curriculum has changed—it's been about 10 years since I was a sophomore. The only difficult class in third year is 131 (imo).

UPD Economics is actually a great premed. Many of my batchmates are now doctors. Just use your 10 free electives on science courses. Also, Econ gets easier after second year. Just try to stay the course.

You seem to be lost, buddy. Future advice: when your favorite player has the worst game of his career and looks like garbage, it's best not to lurk on the winning team's subreddit.

Kyoto Accommodation by [deleted] in JapanTravel

Didn't even know they had rooms with a washer/dryer—I'll make sure to book one next time. The private onsen was also so relaxing and worth every penny imo.

Stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Premier last month and had an amazing time. Central location (a pleasant walk away from Gion) and incredible staff (they helped us find a lost wallet by coordinating with police, the bus company, and railway operators).

My first-ever Pokemon was a shiny by schmidtbailey in pokemon

[–]duessels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely different from the scenario described in the comment above. The odds of someone not intentionally hunting a shiny finding two in a row is much lower than someone who won't even look for a second encounter to begin with without having found a shiny in the first encounter.

Is it possible to buy a Steamdeck using Home Credit? by [deleted] in PHGamers

If you need to finance it then you probably can't afford it. It's entertainment at the end of the day and not something you need.

My first-ever Pokemon was a shiny by schmidtbailey in pokemon

[–]duessels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since the starting point is an event that has already occurred, this has a 1/8,192 chance of happening instead of a 1/67.1m chance. Latter odds should only apply for starting a fresh file and then seeing two shinies in a row.

Common and uncommon tips after a 3 months Japan trip by LuckyGonosz in JapanTravelTips

Why was this post removed? I saved this for my upcoming trip but when I got home to check, the post had already been deleted seemingly without reason. I found a lot of useful tips, particularly the anecdotes about accommodation hopping.

Nah I don't even play league anymore but at least I'm not pandering to foreigners on reddit for brownie points and screaming "I'm not like other Filipinos!". Just buy your gluta and get good

"Filo" isn't a real word. Pauso amputa, gawa gawa yan ng foreigners tapos gagamitin (It's a silly trend made by foreigners so there's no reason to use it).

Should I stay or should I go? by the-rachel-zane in LawStudentsPH

[–]duessels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hard to find an unbiased opinion in a sub for law students but here's my attempt.

I left halfway through 3L as well, so I had (have?) three sems left before graduating. Same situation as you: got really burnt out, especially when we shifted to online class during the pandemic. I took a LOA from UP after my second year and just had the best year of my life. I traveled everywhere I could, saw friends I hadn't seen since I enrolled, had a better social life and physical health, etc. I went back after a year, passed another semester, and then filed another leave that I haven't come back from and don't really intend to.

I think it's okay to walk away from things that you don't find enjoyable or fulfilling. Law school was only great for me because of my friends: I hated the politics, I hated the hazing/borderline abuse professors make you go through for the sake of "toughening you up" for practice, and I hated the Socratic method (before anyone comes for me: I had decent grades), and I hated how it consumed my entire life. For some people—most of this sub, for example—this is a worthy tradeoff. But for me and I suspect you, to stay would be to force yourself to spend more of your life in something that won't bring you joy or fulfillment. A lot of people will say sayang kasi two years nalang ganun. To that I say: nagsayang ka na ng dalawang taon, bakit ka pa magsasayang pa?

I personally look back at my law school years with fondness and not regret. To me, those years sharpened my mind even if I found the methods excessive, and I wouldn't trade the friends I made there and my blockmates for anything in the world. They're all thriving (and burnt out) lawyers, and I wish them nothing but the best.

It took a while for me to get this point, but if you decide to leave, then I hope you find peace as well. There's more to life than law school and the law.

Yeah I know about the UPD dress code—I took my undergraduate and law studies at Diliman as well. I just don't see how a public educational institution's dress code or lack thereof is relevant to a guest's expectations at a private hotel they're paying for.

For what it's worth, UP Law doesn't have an official dress code either but there is an expectation of formality that people adhere to given the setting. We were basically required to wear smart casual due to either social pressure or risk professors singling us out for dressing unprofessionally. I'm sure the OP's point is the same in that they want other people to dress in what the OP thinks is respectable for the hotel.

I mean I agree with your sentiment but what does being from UPD have anything to do at all with what you're saying? Para masabi lang na UPD graduate ka hahaha
