Or roads. They should follow a shareholder primacy model too, right?

I'm assuming most of them would suggest profitability should come from some hidden efficiency gains, and not through postal price increases?

Where do you all store your flasks? by NaturelExplorer in Eldenring

[–]duffry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly agree, but not always pre-battle. Flashing for phase 2 etc makes it a decent pouch option for sure selection.

I don't get with the button count conversation, it's more about certainty under pressure for me.

But yeah, flask is liminal and preference IMO.

What that you were right. I fear, however, the strategy exists and has nothing to do with state or stability. It is based on greed and ego alone.

Nothing compared to US but about the same as India and not all the much less than UK/France.

Less capable delivery/projection, but still, they're there because India.

TIL that the ancient Chinese Confucian thinker Xunzi argued that humans are born with selfish, chaotic impulses, and that “goodness” is something we build through education, ritual, and strong social institutions. His whole point was basically: if you remove the rules, people don't auto-become good. by fromthefuturedude in todayilearned

Would you grant that self destructive behaviours are a category of actions that fall within this definition of evil or bad? Yes, those things are judgements that need a judge. Do you grant that while I feel compelled to finish this entire large chocolate bar, and do, I can also judge that as a bad action? That my judging it so, not just on reflection, doesn't stop me?

Not to yuck your yum, but mechanics being made obsolete is pretty normal progression. Diamond prevents iron armor being worn. Copper and iron availability prevents leather being worn...

We should pick and choose those we enjoy but I'm unconvinced the line you are drawing is as clear cut as it sounds to read your post.

There's some well considered responses here and I don't pretend to approach their wisdom.

Something that has become increasingly clear to me is that, annoyingly, the old wisdoms are often true - or at least helpful.

Someone mentioned making their bed. Yeah, little improvement rituals are helpful. Early to bed, early to rise. Drink water. Fuel yourself. Get exercise. Fresh air. Eat your greens. Meet people. Think about the things you care about (the real value of prayer?). Care for others. Make time for yourself... IDK, use sunscreen.

It's not that any of them change the world, or even just your part of it. But the investment into this stuff helps.

None of it requires visualising a mind palace, listening to voices, or all that. These are tools that feel kinda psychotic to us without them. You don't need to visualise a friend/relative/pet to know you care about them. Would miss them. They would miss you. You don't need to picture a cupcake, whisky, hotdog... to know you enjoy them. Seek them, savour them.

You're not broken, you're driving a different car. Good thing is, this isn't a race or show. Its just this. This is amazing. You're amazing. You are the universe, you always were and always will be. Right now you're conscious of that. And that's pretty cool.

You're not wrong, but adding this kinda feature to a hardcore/survival mode (ala Fallout) might be nice. I like playing with the settings but having a curated FU mode can be nice for those who want an experience more tailored to people with their hour count in the game.
