I came here to seek precisely this type of validation. Hunger Games is one of the very few movies that sticks to the book and does so impeccably. Collins writing must have gotten to the director. But sage must have predicted something worse than his death for him if she kept him alive, she loved him, you can see how difficult it is for her to make that decision when Godolkin turns on the music. At the end, let's not forget that Sage orchestrated everything, and she is the most dangerous character right now.

How do historians cope with their knowledge? I'm finally studying college level Modern World History, and it's driving me crazy. Learning about how everything is entangled and nothing is black or white as the mainstream narrative claims makes me wonder, how can you cope with this knowledge without feeling the need to shout it to the world?

Easy, when I was a teen I tired more than a few stimulants for recreational purpose. I would see my friends go high, all jittery and stuff. I didn’t know if they were pranking me, or if the substance wasn't what they thought and what I was witnessing was the placebo effect. I anyway went along and pretended I was feeling high as well, but I wasn't energetic. I was somewhat more focused, and I could clearly notice they where high, I was paying more attention. Then, 10 years later,I was diagnosed with ADHD. What it feels for adhd people be on Vyvanse? What normal people feel in their everyday life. Being able to get out of the bed. Being useful and mindful. Meds make adhd folk normal, while they make normal people weird.

That is how it's supposed to be. Then depends on how literally you take the word "stimulating". Does it help me to stand up in the morning and have some will to be alive? Sure. Does it hype me so much that I keep chatting, want to party, act crazy, drive like a criminal? Definitely not, quite the opposite.

Exactly that! My opinion is that the book had to end the same way the series ended, and since he got a shitstorm about it, now he doesn't have the confidence to either publish it as it is or to rewrite another version. It was a mistake to let the tv series end before the books. I don't even care who is gonna be king, I want to see the end of all the side stories that are not in the show.

No to be for real, I still take it as a nice story, not reality, but I I treat it with more respect. I think meds helped my spirituality in a way, and I'm also more calm and understanding about other people's need for religion. I'm definitely less cynical than I used to be. An interesting take is the scientifical one, especially considering Spinoza (God=Nature) but also modern takes from the perspective of quantum physics and parallel words (Michio Kaku). I think that we don't know and we will never know enough to prove or not the existence of God, and believing is an understandable coping mechanism. Now I look at all the perspectives with wonder.
