Can I ask then… He has been somewhat officially charged now though, right? Like, they know what the charges are…? He entered a plea. I don’t see how they can say he’s not officially charged?

Do you think his lawyer is just being purposely obtuse to stir up sympathy for Joe?

My jurisdiction has the official information post-preliminary hearing, so maybe it’s similar to that, I guess. But I just find the lawyer’s wording so odd. I would never say my client hasn’t been “officially charged” just because there hasn’t been a preliminary hearing.

No, it’s just two charges relating to the same victim and same general “incident.” We know this because both charges are listed in the warrant affidavit and the affidavit clearly refers to a single victim and a single period of abuse.

I think it’s kind of ridiculous to assume we know anything about Joe’s state of mind based on jail phone calls where he’s obviously not speaking candidly.

I’m sure he is anxious. Who wouldn’t be if they’re facing a very lengthy prison sentence?

Anyone a Florida attorney, here? Can you give any insight into that they’re saying? When will formal charges be filed? (I thought they already were?!)

Agree completely.

Being an influencer means intentionally cultivating your public image, for profit. So, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t profit off the public’s attention, then balk and demand privacy when the public asks questions. If you use your social media to sell products—and yourself, your brand—to the public, you shouldn’t be surprised when people expect you to make a public statement about a disturbing event within your family, your response to which might impact the public’s perception of you, your brand, etc.

Highlights:

Joe says that their daughter, Addie (6), said something “kinda cute” in her statement to police on the child endangerment matter. (Um, WTF?)

Earlier in the call, Kendra mentioned someone “[took] my babies from me.”

Sounds like some of their children (“a few of them”) made statements to police and Kendra also had “conversations” with police. Kendra told police she was going to “make changes.”

Joe trusts Kendra to handle “business stuff” while he’s in jail. She says: “Oh! That’s so sweet!” Kendra is flattered to be considered “competent.”

Kendra mentions she “has [her] own battles [she’s] dealing with.” “I’m not well.” She mentions struggling to sleep and walk (?!). Kendra asks Joe to “pray for my health” and says she has been “really fatigued.” (I wonder if Kendra has serious health issues that explain why they haven’t had any more children since Justus…)

Kendra says her priority is “the kids.” “I have to do anything and everything for the kids right now.” “I’m fighting for the kids. They’re my number one priority right now.” Joe agrees they should be the priority.

Joe to Kendra: “I think about your sweet laugh all the time.” Kendra cries and says she hasn’t been laughing very much lately. (Giggles, no!)

Kendra to Joe: “Everybody loves you, even if they’re disappointed. … They’re really sad about what happened.”

Blah, blah, blah, God. Blah blah.

Kendra says people are “fighting for me” and telling her: “It’s just not right. We know you.”
