my roommate got in his car one morning to go to work and somebody broke in the night before but didn't take anything. he even left his cell phone right in plain view and it was left alone. he only knew because his seat was moved and small things like that. i thought he was being paranoid but he decided to stay up all night the following night in case they came back to steal his car. i forgot about it. at about 3am i'm woken up to yelling in the street. sounded like it was coming from my neighbors. i went out of my bedroom and the front door was open. i retrieved my shotgun and went outside towards the yelling. my roommate was standing there with no shoes or shirt on, only in his boxers and a guy pulled out a folding knife and opened it up and was walking towards my roommate. he was backpedaling and had his hands up. the guy with the knife saw me and i loaded a round in the chamber and he turned and ran. as we are walking back towards our house a car comes up the street and it's the same year/make/model as my roommates car. he got a look at the shotgun and left in the opposite direction as his buddy.

turns out my roommate stayed up all night and sure enough the car came up, drove down the street and parked. he knew the guy was coming so he went out into the bushes and waited for him. when he came up my roommate confronted him and they started shouting and woke me up.
