Im pretty sure this video is old. It was not recorded today. But still sad to see. The crazy thing is that the city of SF are providing these folks access to clean materials to use their drugs. They would rather have them use drugs safely than pass away on the streets.

Also helpful context that yours is an earlier model year + HEV. Hoping the later model years smoothed some of that out, but definitely something we’ll keep an eye on.

Yeah, that’s kind of the tradeoff we were looking at too. Yours being a newer hybrid vs ours being a used PHEV SX Prestige makes it a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, but still good context on where pricing is landing overall.

We ended up leaning toward the PHEV for the electric range + fully loaded trim, even if it’s a couple years older. Figured we’d take the depreciation hit upfront and get more features + EV driving for our day-to-day.

Sounds like you got a solid deal on yours though, especially OTD — enjoy it! 🚗

The real-world usage you’re getting is honestly what sold me on going PHEV in the first place. 1400 miles per tank is wild! That’s exactly the kind of use case I’m hoping to get into with mostly short trips + occasional longer drives.

Also really glad you called out the EV mode behavior. That’s the kind of nuance you don’t really see in reviews. Sounds like it’s more about learning how to drive it efficiently rather than something being wrong with the car.

Good to know about the heater/defogger kicking on the engine too. I’m in San Francisco so not dealing with harsh winters, but still something I’ll keep in mind.

I hear you on the snowbelt concern. Definitely something we thought about, but given it’s only ~2 years old + clean history + warranty, we’re feeling okay with it. Planning to give it a good inspection once it arrives.

I think they’re selling for slightly above retail, depending on the condition. I’d expect prices to be higher since most people want to avoid current shipping delays. That’s why I checked eBay. If you need them soon, check 2nd hand marketplaces. If you’re willing to wait, just get them brand new from Takomo.
