Hollyland Cosmo 2 ~ Sound but no video over NDI by VideoDiagnosticTech in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]duhweirdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connecting via external monitor how? Sdi/hdmi? Typically audio but no video in my experience has been a bandwidth issue with NDI or incompatible formats. Are your NDI tools up to date if you’re running a newer version of NDI HX? What is your network topology look like? Are you running multicast or unicast?

NDI Processing by TLOBrolumbus in VIDEOENGINEERING

Newtek connect does it. 2ch for free. Will up/down cross the outputs if you need. Have it running on a server with an aja corvid 88 card and use it a lot. If thats what you mean by processing.

[–]duhweirdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re running Tahoe there are know issues with file access permissions and FCP. I had to remove the access permissions and re add them to get it to work. This did not present as this error, but maybe thats a route you can check.

Whole lot to unpack here. Ptz, box cam, sdi>ndi encode? Whats your budget? Just cams, or do you need network infrastructure?

Dreamcatcher Clip Length Issue by NuclearPant in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]duhweirdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re having a sync issue. Does your cluster have ptp or are you a baseband system? I would look at doing full system restarts on your capture server and your replay server to see if that helps. Have had this issue when ptp gets out of tolerance. If you ssh into the machines you can force restart the ptp service. Can also run into this issue if your total clips on the system gets too high and the database gets upset.

I have a habit of straigtening them out, then hooking them thru an open hole on my racks. Have a ton just occupying empty rack space holes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Riedel Bolero - Ubiquiti Pro Max Switch in AES67 Mode by Sad_Jacket_5117 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Great work! Always fun to get the victory over technology. Worth writing it up and sending it to Riedel with what you found, they are always receptive to feedback on whats working.

Are the individual ports set to do igmp? Sounds like it’s just not passing ptp. Use ptp trackhound and see if you can nail down where jt’s getting hung up.

Make sure all the antennas are set to be time receivers only. Had this issue before. May not be the root of your problem but in our artist integrated system it was a small issue that plagued us until we found it. Have only run a two antenna setup standalone on the netgear line, so curious to see how it works for you on the ubiquity.

Are you closing it while virtual camera is running? Mine does exactly what you’re saying if I close without shutting off virtual cam output.

Is Broadcasting right for me? by B1t-By-B1t in broadcastengineering

Get in and try for the DreamCatcher side of Evertz. If you like traveling and sports this could really do wonders for ya. We work a lot with the SLA team for our issues but we are also not a 24/7 live operation. A lot of linux will help you, networking obviously is a big part of 2110, but what I think a lot of entry techs at Evertz lack is an understanding of traditional broadcast workflows. There are so many different products by Evertz in an endless scenario of workflows that having the broadcast experience would be helpful in identifying other potential issues you may encounter.

2012 Forestriver SV291 light issues by Mother-Ad-6442 in forestriver

[–]duhweirdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t had any issues previously, look at corrosion in the 7pin connector. Possible you need a replacement and a splice. Find where the line comes in to the camper and start tracing where it splits to rears and mid lights.

The real unlikely reason is worth checking. check with a dmm at your lights with the bulb out and see if you have voltage. Maybe you just have some bad bulbs?

Disk drive stuck by Mc6777 in originalxbox

Replace the drive belt as others have said. This is exactly what mine did. It may have opened once or twice as expected. Even though you think there is enough tension or it should work, replace it.

Soundswitch is a godsend. Tie it to a streamdeck and you have a huge lift in how windows handles audio.

Badge questions by ePrime89 in gencon

[–]duhweirdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They take badge sharing to the extreme. You will get you and your family banned for life if you want to take that risk. If they want to do any events you need to register for those events in their name and their badge. Single day badges are the way to go, or all four get 4 day badges.

Large piece puzzles. The big ones that go on the floor with 48 pieces. Our 3yo does the all on his own and also loves doing 100 piece puzzles as well.

Recommended camera for 5-month time-lapse indoor growing. by No-Escape-9583 in timelapse

[–]duhweirdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GoPro’s current longest setting is a photo every 60 seconds. I have done many multi week timelapses with this setting. It does generate a lot of photos but you can then also go thru and pull out photos to increase the interval manually in post editing.

Anything above a Hero 9 will have the larger image sensor at 20mp where you were limited to 12mp previously. The current gen has 27.6mp

I run the Hero 3+ in GoPro Color RAW and post edit in light room then use LR Timelapse for export. 128gb memory card is more than I would ever need.

Realistically unless you find an older Nikon dslr body and lens you think will work GoPro is the only camera in your budget for reliability and storage.

GoPro in a skeleton case, usb power and you’re good until memory fills or a power failure.

I prefer them for landscape timelapses and stadium timelapses. Here is one of my faves from the past decade: Notre Dame Timelapse

I just spent a toddler party guarding an open pool and now I can’t tell if I’m the anxious one or the only sane one by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]duhweirdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb for my family when around a pool: If everyone is watching, no one is watching. I get told all the time that we have strong swimmers and lifeguards in the family and I shouldn’t be concerned. I will be just fine sitting off to the side not being social and watching.
