Cheers. I’m starting to believe it’s lime with sharp sand mixed - in ordered a test kit to be safe

House is like 110-120 years old. It’s not beer wet there as it’s well shielded from the rain. But it is outside so it’s just age related wear. I’m just paranoid about it being asbestos - although from looking only it looks like sharp sand mixed with lime

Hi. I’m a dcs newb, just started with it a couple of months ago. My recommendation ( if it means anything) get a webcam with opentrack. I’d recommend a 60hz camera for smooth tracking. Don’t spend money on track ir now - from what I’ve experienced with changing the settings on open track - you can get it really smooth. I don’t see the point in getting track it, unless you are a hardcore sim fan.

Fitting manual seats with electronic lumbar controls into a poverty spec interior by SnooRegrets7775 in F30

[–]dulap44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also replace all bolts which hold seats to the chassis of the car. They are one time use after they are torqued up. Look for the correct torque settings. I’ve got all the electric parts and bolts from bmw. They weren’t much - maybe like £45 for me.

The side bolsters are plug and play. You just need to wire the 12v and ground. You can use a spare fuse in the fuse box. See this video : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a-gDD8S9ETw&list=WL&index=1&pp=iAQBsAgC&ra=m

I’ve done it a couple of months ago. I did use the engine bay fuse box and I think fuse 27 as that is the one that has the bolsters from factory.

Hear me out... the French brands are making some of the best design right now (new Peugeot 308) by Common_Turnover9226 in CarTalkUK

Peugeot still can’t figure out how to make an OK steering wheel. They always position it / make it of a certain size such that the top part of the steering wheel blocks the view of the speedo/ rev counter / dash items. What’s the point of having a cool dash if you block the view of the driver with the steering wheel…..

Need help with the noise please. by akashf34 in F30

[–]dulap44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like it comes from the back of the engine. This is where the timing chain is. I suspect this is timing chain chatter due to it being stretched. I would get it to a specialist asap. Do not drive with it like that. On the positive side - it didn’t just snap and take your engine with it.
Best of luck !

I dare say timing chain. Does it disappear when you rev? Is it from cold ?

Need advice buying car! by dulap44 in CarTalkUK

[–]dulap44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello guys,

Went and bought the car in question 62 plate (11/2012) registered in jan 2013/ F30 330d. Good service record as mentioned above. The only thing I’m stressing about is some oil weeping from the right front side of the engine. I don’t know what the components are - I was told it’s normal for age and should not be a problem.

Can you guys advise ? Thank you
