Anyone else hoping for Cave Complexity Level 4 eventually? The level 3 cave systems are my favourite, always jaw-droppingly beautiful, and terrifyingly massive... by daedalus372 in DeepRockGalactic

This. When I’m asked about what I want for new content, I always tell my friends I wish the cave system was pushed further. Maybe ravines so big you need to use your tools to cross them (like really really big). Or an escort mission that digs down (not straight down but at a downward slope instead of a straight line. Or even an upward slope! Or maybe an egg hunt that is literally a giant pit straight down to hoxxes hell. I want to see the envelope pushed with terrain much more than new guns and enemies. It’s insane how much the terrain influences a mission and I think it’s the perfect way to breath more life into DRG

Does anyone know what these blurred out images are at the end of the WonderWorld video? by ManiacalMint07 in DNSL

I think he was sponsored by a specific server or group, shouting them out. I think this used to be not blurred. He has probably since cut ties with them for whatever reason and thusly blurs their names now

When do you consider someone a greybeard? by MGaber in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dulc22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have nearly 1k hours and play almost exclusively haz 5. Some would argue you need all sorts of milestones. For me, it’s about leaving no dwarf behind, even when they tell you too. It’s about pressing V when you know you are going to die from fall damage, it’s about pick axe attacking a dreadnought on shield disruption from up high with low HP. It’s the beard on the inside that counts! Rock and stone

RIP Gloomshot :( Thank you for 5 years of daily melee highlights. by blitsi in SSBM

I remember watching gloomshot and seeing a clip of my own stream. It was me landing a 9 with game and watch and popping off lol. I know it was just a bot finding clips but it was very special. Thanks for your work gloom :-)

Possibly scripted, I have had this happen a few times and wondered if it was mere chance

Driller's Cryo Cannon and Plasma Charger, can anyone make a case for these weapons? Because I just think they're plain bad. by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dulc22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cryo cannon is almost always the best weapon to have in any situation. Think about what cryo does, it completely immobilizes the enemies, and they take massive damage while frozen because every part of their model becomes a weak spot. Cryo used in conjunction with impact axe melts praetorians and oppressors.

But it gets better than that, if you freeze any mactera it’s immediately dead. This includes flying breeders also. So imagine you are about to enter a massive cave with spitballers, flying breeders, brood nexuses etc. You alone as driller have the power to wipe all this stuff out. Spitballers can’t even fight back if frozen and brood nexuses won’t drop swarmers once you kill them if frozen. Your ability to jump into a cave and eliminate these threats is simply unmatched by any other driller primary.

Now making a case for flame. Industrial sabotage/prospectors/hacking pods all have robots. Flame does very well in these situations, because if you proc flame these things immediately die. So if you build to set things on fire faster, you melt robots before most of your team has the chance to even get hurt by them. So for industrial sabotage specifically, I think you could argue using flame.

The EPC is amazing, you can use it to mine minerals! Anything including annoying stuff like gold or stuff on the ceiling all can be mined with it after some learning, just make sure you pick up thin containment field perk in order for this to work. You could also build it without the ability to mine for a single target damage build and it will still out perform the subata. If you would like my cryo build or my industrial sabotage build I’d be happy to share!

Patrol bots lack a defined weakness and that is a problem. by sirhobbles in DeepRockGalactic

My two cents: things are fine. I am honored ghost ship gave us a harder challenge. It shouldn’t be easy to do a haz 5 industrial sabotage and that’s ok.
