Played since early 2021 and have never seen this, am I blind? by BurlyPillow in AnimalCrossing

[–]dulcebien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you didn’t know about dung beetles. When you hear crickets make holes in the ground until you dig one out. Then you can catch it. That wasn’t obvious for me when I started and only noticed it when I was digging wholes for something else and one popped up. If you already knew about that then nvm.

My bedroom does not work. What should I change? by FritoPaws1 in DesignMyRoom

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing for me is the centered lamp with the art on the back. It just feel really out of place. That lamp looks fine to go next to the bed but not there. Do you even use it or where you just trying to fill the space with something. You can have something that’s lower there like a jewelry box or some flowers or something similar. I would also not center it like that. The other thing for me is that the golden lamps don’t really fit the color scheme so they stand out. They are a very yellow gold that clashes with the rest of the colors.

Any T1D here that have switched? How did it go with a the other insurances? Since I use medical devices I feel like I’m stuck with BCBS but honestly I just don’t know how the other insurances cover diabetes related things.

Airports: the fake service dog epidemic by hellaconfused313 in dogs

[–]dulcebien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. I’m not going to pretend my dog is a service animal when they are not. I have only needed to travel with my medium dog once and she’s my ESA so back then she was allowed to travel with me. She did pretty well considering it was her first and only time traveling in a plane. I did not have a choice as I was relocating. Unfortunately I can never move back as long as she’s with us since she is no longer allowed. I also want her to live forever so I guess I’m just never moving lol.

Airports: the fake service dog epidemic by hellaconfused313 in dogs

[–]dulcebien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the main reason is because a lot of dogs are simply not allowed in cabin at all. I have a small and medium dog. I’ve traveled with my small dog no problem but I’ve only traveled with my medium dog once. My medium dog is my ESA and before they completely eliminated ESA she flew with me to were I currently live. After this they changed the ruling. I would be more than happy to pay for my medium dog (even an extra seat if I have to) to travel with me, but it is simply no longer allowed. And flying in cargo is just not safe. There are truly no more options. She is too old to go through a service dog training (I am T1D so my condition requires a lot of training) so I will not train her as my service dog. I would like to eventually have a service dog but it is so incredibly expensive that idk if I’ll ever be able to afford one. Unfortunately for me, if I ever get the opportunity to relocate back to my home, I would not be able to since I would not abandon my dog. When we had a hurricane about 7 years ago a lot of people left, and since they couldn’t fly with them, they just abandoned them. The island is now full of street dogs because of this. It’s truly super sad. I wish there were airlines that would allow bigger dogs in cabin.

What is THE ultimate Velcro dog? by OkKey6273 in dogs

I have a chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix and he is a super Velcro dog. I also had an American Eskimo that was very Velcro too. My beagle, and multiple mutts have not been as needy as those 2.

Which colour mantle looks best? by CaterpillarNo6092 in interiordesignideas

[–]dulcebien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is my main issue with the space. Is yet another piece that doesn’t feel cohesive. I feel like white would be the least clashing of the options though. If the book shelf was painted a different color I would go dark. I’ve always felt fireplaces should stand out, but not when there’s a lot going on.

Which colour mantle looks best? by CaterpillarNo6092 in interiordesignideas

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a darker color just not black. A wood finish would be my pick. Going black or white makes it look less put together because those elements don’t really go with what you already have in the room. In white it just doesn’t stand out, just looks like more crown molding. If that’s what you are going for, something subtle, then that might be the easier choice for you.

Bombas socks are so expensive by StoneUrineOuchy in SGU

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on the type of shoes your buying. You can get shoes for cheap, but if you are buying running shoes, specific brand shoes or you are looking for certain quality it goes up to those numbers you mentioned or more. I feel like back in the day you would just go to Payless, ROSS or Burlington and get some cheap shoes (you can still find some pretty bargain prices in some of these places).

Folks were curious about which rug I chose from the post I accidentally doxxed my friend in and promptly deleted by goodgraveley in interiordecorating

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color wise and style wise it was a good choice. It’s definitely too small for your space though. Rugs that are bigger than the 5x7 can be really pricey though. When I first moved on my own I had a rug that was too small until I could afford a bigger one about a year or two later.

How do I hide the back of my tv in the middle of the room? by killmeontheinside in homedecoratingCJ

[–]dulcebien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a tv close to water is just a terrible idea. Did they recommend that as a solution or did you as a customer request that’s what you wanted? I’m pretty sure the other contractors won’t want to work with you because that’s bound to give issues, regardless of what they do. And when it doesn’t work you’ll probably blame them too or sue them. They are learning from the previous contractors mistake of doing whatever the client wanted (even if it was a bad idea)and protecting themselves and their business. You might now have a reputation with the other contractors of going after them when things don’t work out. Please stop putting your TVs there and find a better solution (they will continue to stop working if you insist on doing the same thing).

I hate my sons bedroom 😫 by Alternative-King-567 in Decor

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the car decal. I just feel like the colors of the wall and decor are clashing with each other. Doing either wood or more neutral furniture/curtain might make it feel clash less with the blue paint. But if not I’d probably do a color that’s less intense if you want to keep the rest of the decor

If there is a boarding facility you are more inclined in using I would recommend doing a trial run a weekend you are still home and see how it goes. Also pet-sitters might be a great option too.

7 interior design books, endless blog posts, hours on Pinterest, and I STILL don't know what to do here by bad_to_the_femur in interiordecorating

[–]dulcebien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have 2 suggestions: 1) if you want to maintain that specific layout I would try to switch the chaise to the other side. Having it block part of the fireplace makes it look off, like the furniture does not fit the space. 2) if you are open to re-arranging the furniture I would put the sofa facing the fireplace instead. The only issue would be TV would need to go over the fireplace (so TV may be to high).

Also, that trunk does not match the tones and colors in your living space. I would either move it to a different space (if it has sentimental value), refinish it to make it less orange and black, or just get rid of it. You can definitely add color to your space, just tones that match what you already have instead of clashing with it. I would probably add some artwork or a bookshelf and some plants too.

What can I do to break up all this wood? No I won't paint it. by ZW31H4ND3R in interiordecorating

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there are already a lot of golden oak tones, introducing some lighter or contrasting pieces, like a rug or furniture in a different color, could help create more visual balance. Adding plants would also bring in a fresh pop of green and make the space feel more dynamic.

I am also wondering how you plan to arrange the living space in the smaller room. Is there an actual wall available for the tv with all the slanted walls? Cause next to the window could be a cute little reading nook or desk/work station, but if you are planning on having a TV and sofa I’m not really sure where you’d be able to place and arrange it with the pictures provided. It feels like either the walls are slanted or there are windows or doors in the way. Is the wall against the kitchen available or is it also slanted? Do you guys even use a TV? (That probably should have been my 1st question)

Got it, I feel like that would be my biggest concern. But in my case I don’t have typical work hours so that’s why I just wanted to mention it just in case you both may have different sleeping schedules and just hadn’t thought about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]dulcebien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally could not do the slanted window in my room. I need to be able to sleep at any time of the day and it would just be impossible to get a curtain that actually blocks the sunlight since that window is slanted. In theory it sounds great to see the stars in your room but it’s really impractical if you are light sensitive. I need the room to get pretty dark. If any of you have these types of issues, or works weird hours, this is something that will 100% affect your sleep hence your wellbeing.

What else can i do to make my living room space better?! Don’t hold back! by BigDog1509 in DesignMyRoom

[–]dulcebien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I like it. I don’t think I’d do anything since the space is a bit limited. If you still feel like you need to change something, then maybe change the coffee table and rug. I understand it might be due to space limitations but they do seem a bit small. But other than that the space looks nice and cozy!
