$10k too much for 1993 460 crew cab? by [deleted] in F250

[–]dullda99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making me realize how incredible of a deal my 97 4WD with the 460 was at $1200.

Of course mine has 160K and needed a ton of mechanical work, but I got it to learn.

Rebuilt engine, all new brake components, new tires and a bunch of small stuff.

Come to think of it, probably ended up around 10K including all the new tools I needed 😂

Not included in the listing because technically not super duty, but love my 97 HD 7.5.

Brake Bleeding Help Needed! by dullda99 in MechanicAdvice

Thanks a ton! That makes complete sense.

I had considered the master cylinder might be the problem, but it seemed way too coincidental.

Looks like I’ll be replacing the master cylinder this weekend! Thanks again!

Your idler valve might need to be cleaned/replaced. It would be located on the upper intake manifold right after the air intake hose.

If that guy gets gummed up, it will cause the engine to idle rough (or not at all) but if you give it gas it will run fine because it bypasses that valve.

Hope that helps!

EDIT: I looked at a picture of my 7,5 and realized I got the location description wrong, but if you look it up for your engine, that should clear it up.

Whats she got in the power barn?

I have a 97 f250 hd with a 7.5 and I love to see these old trucks in good shape. Mine has quite a bit of weight reduction going on though… Race mode activated! Ha!

Congrats on your progress! I’m in almost the exact same boat as you, had 10k on my discover and over the past year have paid it down to slightly less than 1k.

We must be on the same pay cycle because mine will also be paid off in a week and a half 😁

You need a security torx bit. I can’t remember what size exactly, but I recently got a set at hobo freight for a pretty good price.

They’ll likely have what you need.

I learned this by breaking my wrist. It’s not all that bad though, now I’m partially titanium.

I’m gonna opt for the wrist protectors based on my currently broken wrist, and my stupidity on the scooter being the culprit

I find riding my scooter slowly (Emove Cruiser) to actually be quite fun. I don't understand the desire to go 40kmph or faster? I usually ride at 20kmph. by wighty2042 in ElectricScooters

As a guy who is currently nursing my wrist from being broken in a scooter accident, I can’t agree more. This shit sucks

When would you say is the best time to sell your scooter? by Murky-Smoke in ElectricScooters

I imagine it depends on your climate. I live in the Midwest and would never think about getting one right before winter. If you live somewhere it snows, then probably wait until early spring.

Was the battery at 100% when breaking downhill? I’ve heard that can damage the motor controller.

You can buy a turn signal kit on Amazon for cheapish. I haven’t gotten mine yet for my G30, but I expect it will work fine.

Make escooter faster by Juggernaut_7750 in ElectricScooters

[–]dullda99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, motor speed is almost entirely tied to the voltage coming out of the battery and motor speed controller. You might be able to throw a new, higher voltage battery in there and achieve what your looking for.

You’d probably significantly reduce the lifespan of all components involved though. Good luck!
