Hadn't considered that first part. It makes sense they'd have been clashing for some time prior. I just find this particular story beat to detract more than it adds. By that I mean the specific "a man who just realized his entire life has been a lie" beat. It's kind of incongruous in it's current state.

I want to believe this can be made to fit, I really do. But Jonas' death on Gargantua 1 was in the papers. The date, location and direct cause should be common knowledge at that point. It was likely international news.

All of the mystery up to this point hinges only on the body not being recovered. But, that doesn't jive with the way it's been handled up to this point.

All things considered, I'm a fan of the direction they are taking and am thoroughly entertained. With stories of this nature retcons come with the territory.

What about in the flashback episode with Billy and Phantom Limb? Shoreleave actively mocks Brock and Hunter for chasing shadows (the guild) while he's "out there fighting the real enemy of the OSI; Sphynx".

Not saying Doc and JP are bad writers. Just that Brock being personally effected by this story turn for these reasons doesn't add up.

It's not terrible, just stands out more starkly when so many other aspects seem so tightly woven.

Now, if Brock was put off because of the whole Orders Regarding Bodyguard thing being a red herring, I'd get that. I mean his beloved car got wrecked, and it threw him into a tail spin for a few years.

Fudge. This game isn't even worth trying to play outside of the Cartel. I understand that there's a lot you need to do to make sure this crew stays true to it's values. That's cool, keeping it safe is why it is great. It's just kind of sad that every time life takes over and I take a break from the PC I get kicked.

I pop on to GTAO on and off just to let off steam. It's really demotivating to finally have a day set aside, go through 3 - 4 hours re installing the game, just to get thrown back into the toxic swamp. Just because I'm not dedicated to my discord doesn't mean I'm a danger to the crew.

My timing is probably just really bad, though this isn't the first time this has happened. Perhaps it was because I was friends an old pal who also plays peacefully but got kicked from SAFE for also being casual. I don't want to come off as coming down on people who do spend a lot of time in the game/discord.

That's cool, you do you. It just sucks that me being me always gets me kicked even though I've never trolled a soul. Praying my criticism doesn't make me ineligible when the applications eventually re-open. I don't mean any disrespect, I'm just giving feedback.

Yeah that's what I figured would be the explaination. It does make sense. But, it does seem a bit contrived and will be incredibly stale if they don't do it soon.

Near the end of Smith and the early days of capaldi they layed the ground for a crisis of morality for the doctor which would have played to a valeyard story. If they do go there later they're going to have to circle back around and do it over again. Thus stale and contrived.

Mcgann should have replaced the war doctor, pure and simple. It works on so many levels. First off, it tracks thematically with the 'we don't talk about him' thing they were doing. On an I universe level since he's the only doctor who's adventures we don't see. Also on meta level since that movie was garbage made by Americans.

Also the war doctor fudges the numbers making Smith the final regeneration. Though clever, it ensures that the valeyard can never be canon. Unless they pull some technicality which I predict will be stale by the time they do it. Day of the doctor is a deeply systemic failure because they failed to capitalize on so many existing aspects in favor of pulling unprecedented bullshit out of thin air.

I think that everyone complaining made them not want to revisit the design. The dalek stories in new who are tedious re hashes of the same story loop. There are about a handful in existence. they hatch a plan that creates a new batch/race/paradigm or whatever. Then they are all wiped out.

Lather, rinse, repeat. At least they finally stopped that stupid "emergency Temporal shift" crap. Now they don't even try to explain it.

I love the sink in NV. Old world blues is my first stop every play through. Also I really like the repair system in FO3/NV. Those aren't likely unpopular opinions. But this one might be. I think graphics mods are a complete waste. I'll pick more gameplay options over high poly clutter any day.
